About Fit For The Road

How a bike fits a rider is determined by certain proportions of the rider's body in relation to the frame geometry and adjustable parts of the bike. Fit For The Road calculates frame size, saddle height and saddle offset as well as stem and crank arm length bases on a few body measurements.

Where do you start with something like this? It is scary that people could be suckered in and use these sizings. Enter your dimensions fair enough handy little diagram, but guys INSEAM is from crotch to floor!! Not to the position of INSIDE LEG. The app uses the Le Mond method to calculate seat height, but is off because of dimension entered. God knows how it calculates stem length....I end up with 8.5cm stem I ride 11cm in real world. Seat set back mine is calculated at 4.5m cm this is just an arbitary figure as femur length is unkown, just probably inseam (which is obviously incorrect see above divided in half). This also contravenes UCI regulation of 5cm set back regulation unless a physical or medical dispensation is applied. Nope, sorry truing to be positive, but this app could leave you so injured I can not not leave a comment. Go to a proper bicycle shop and get fitted if racing or set up if just a recreational rider. Sorry guys
