Cesare Cremonini

Nel 1999 Cremonini fonda i Lùnapop e inizia a lavorare insieme al produttore Walter Mameli ad un progetto musicale. Partecipano alla decima edizione del Festival di San Marino, classificandosi al primo posto con il provino di Qualcosa di grande, scritto da Cremonini ai tempi della scuola. È in quella occasione vengono notati da una piccola casa discografica indipendente di Roma, la neonata Universo.

Il 27 maggio del 1999 esce in radio il singolo di debutto "50 Special", e il gruppo raggiunge il successo: disco di platino e più di 100.000 copie vendute in soli tre mesi[1]. Cesare dichiara di aver scritto quella canzone poco prima dell'esame di maturità, ispirato dal libro Jack Frusciante è uscito dal gruppo di Enrico Brizzi. Il 27 novembre 1999, a tre giorni dall'uscita dell'album, fa il suo debutto in radio "Un giorno migliore", il secondo singolo estratto dal disco, arrivando alla vetta dei brani più trasmessi il 22 dicembre 1999, rimanendoci fino a marzo 2000. Il singolo, uscito a gennaio, si aggiudica il disco d'oro per oltre 25.000 copie vendute[2].

In 1999 he founded the Cremonini Lunapop and began working with producer Walter Mameli on a musical project.
