About Ring - Shortcut Everything

This is the official app for the Ring.

The Ring is a wearable input device that allows the user to control various devices by gesturing.

This app allows you to add actions, customize gestures, and change settings.

Using the Ring is easy:
1. Place the Ring on your index finger.
2. Hold the touch sensor and start gesturing.
3. Once the gesture is completed, the gesture data is sent to your Android device and a corresponding action gets executed.

The Ring can be used even when the app is in background mode, allowing you to use the Ring while your Android device is in your pocket or in your bag.

Welcome to the magical world with the “Ring”!

The app sucks. I saw a really amazing product in the ad but when I got it, it could only do simple things. Please focus more on developing software for the android and stop focusing on the Apple. As of now you are really kissing apple's butt.

Where's the option to add shortcuts? Currently just 5 that you can use and less if u don't have Hue or Twitter

I would agree with other comments that the built in functions are useless but the URI allows for infinite potential. Simple setup use it to launch program on your pc with http://[ip address]:[port]?[Event ghost variable] and of course install event ghost and Web server on pc. With this configuration I have ring turning on my home theater (usbir remote) and lights (x10 lighting). I'm happy with the product.

I can't use my ring at all because this app crashes immediately after drawing the circle in the tutorial every time. Fix and I will give 4 stars at least. Until then, I have a $150 useless aluminum ring.

Literally no functionality whatsoever and buggy as hell

Not rating so low because I am disappointed in the device because I am. Rating the app low because it creaked when trying to edit speak which is the only useful thing. This was made by Apple fan boys fit apple fan boys.

I can't even pair the Ring to my phone properly. Tried to 'draw' the circle over and over again with no result. What's the point of having it if I can't even pass the tutorial?

I tried about 20 times, doesn't seem to register.

There isnt an option to add your own shortcuts for apps at Present , it really needs this to be any use at all. Like others have said its pretty cool , but useless beyond a demo really ,All i can do is take a picture remotely or play/pause music and thats it. If you dont use twitter that leaves you with 4 options . 1.Turn Hue Light On/Off (assuming you have a Smart enabled lamp , I thought you would be able to buy an addon box from Logbar to make stuff like Lamps/Tvs work that weren't smart enabled but doesn't seem so yet) 2. Play/Pause Music , Skip next / previous track (doesn't work with Spotify yet) 3.Take a Picture (not going to lie this one is cool) 4** Speak (this feature it supposed to read texts out to you , except it doesn't! in this version of the app you make the gesture and it just makes your phone say "Hello Ring" and if you try to edit the options for this feature the Ring app crashes unexpectedly every time , but this may only be on the Galaxy S5. Its kind of cool but with only 5 things to do at the moment and with 2 of those 5 being speicific to if you use twitter or have a Hue light. it just cant do anything worthwhile. Has a long way to go I'm afraid.

I got the ring through Kickstarter. Right now its pretty much useless beyond a demo. Please add a tasker plugin and an ifttt plugin. That will make it a lot more useful quickly.

It would be nice if we could upgrade the sign-in options to include social sign in, like Google Plus authentication. The password has strange limitations: only lower case letters and numbers? That's not compatible with the generation engine of my password manager. (Lastpass) It's pretty standard for passwords to include symbols and upper case letters. .. Edit: I tried making a password with only letters and numbers and I got an error message that my password was too weak. What a pain.
