제암교회

우리 제암교회를 방문하신 모든 분들을 주님의 이름으로 환영하며 축복합니다.
제암교회는 1905년 8월 5일에 창립되어 올 해로 112주년을 맞이하는, 향남지역에서 가장 오래된 교회입니다.
특히 제암교회는 1919년 3·1운동에 주도적으로 참여했던 교회로, 예배당에서 23명이 희생당하신 순국의 역사를 남기고 있는 애국교회입니다. 그로 인해 제암교회는 우리나라 교회들 가운데서 유일하게 교회터가 사적지로 지정된 교회입니다.(사적 299호)
또한 제암교회는 화성 8경 가운데 제 7경으로 지정되어 국내 뿐 아니라 중국과 일본을 비롯한 전 세계에서 많은 방문객들이 찾아와서 역사의 현장을 배우고 가는 교육의 터전이기도 합니다.
지금도 제암교회는 하나님의 사랑과 이웃사랑을 실천하며 이 시대의 빛과 소금이 되기 위해 노력하고 있습니다. 제암교회의 비전은 과거에도 그랬던 것처럼 지금 현재에도 이 시대의 빛과 소망이 되는 것입니다. 그래서 하나님께 영광이 되고 사람에게는 기쁨이 되는 하나님의 나라를 우리는 소망합니다. 이를 위해 모든 성도들이 한 마음과 한 뜻이 되어 사랑으로 천국공동체를 이루어 그 나라가 이 땅에 임하고 그 나라를 세상에 보여주는 참다운 교회의 표상으로 살아가려 합니다.
