마태복음 16장을 보면 베드로가 이렇게 고백합니다.
"주는 그리스도시요 살아계신 하나님의 아들 이시니이다"
예수님의 그리스도 되심에 대한 고백입니다.
그 때 예수님께서 기뻐하시면서 말씀하시기를 "이 반석 위에 내 교회를 세우리라" 그렇게 말씀하셨습니다.
예수님의 마음 속에는 모든 교회의 머리는 예수님이 되어야 한다는 분명한 계획이 있었다는 것입니다.
그러므로 우리 신촌교회는 예수님이 주인인 교회가 되어야 하고, 이미 예수님이 이끄시는 교회였음을 분명히 알아야 합니다.
