Doesn't crash.. I like that! Like that you can just read the headline if you don't want to read the entire story

M70%

One stop unbiased news feed highly recommend it!

Great quick news clips and easy access to full articles

Love AP. Trust this news source.

I used to get around 2 to 10 news headline notifications from this app nearly every day, but beginning around 10 days ago I haven't gotten any. Is this a known issue or is it just me? Also, as others have pointed out, it would be a great improvement if tapping a notification brings you to the story the notification references, instead of just opening the app. Galaxy S7 Edge.

by A####:

I had the BBC app originally, but the ads were too intrusive. The Associated Press app is reliable, looks nice, and doesn't bombard you with full-page ads. Has nice coverage, but doesn't seem to have the option to save articles. If it does, it's not intuitive. [Edit: And then I figured out the save feature shortly after I wrote this. It's actually quite simple to use ! App gets a start back.]

Works on whatever device I put it on and feels like a lot of development has gone into the application. But I probably won't agree with the assumptions that most AP writers use as context in their reporting. I'll rate it 5 stars because I do need this App. The left of center bias infuses the reporting but if I stopped reading AP because of that fact and other outlets with a similar bias then I would be left with hardly anything to inform myself.

N70%
by N####:

When you click "Open" as opposed to "Dismiss" in the Alerts popup, it just opens the app instead of going to the alerted story. In fact, sometimes the alerted story is nowhere to be found. Frustrating. Breaking news sound is not changeable, barely audible and usually doesn't work. Older stories interspersed with breaking news and are hard to distinguish and are repetative. Needs to be more customizable. 2 out 3 "Local" sources wouldn't open any articles.

T70%
by T####:

The breaking news notifications do not open the story they are alerting. Just the main page of the app. You have to search around for the story yourself, and the articles aren't in chronological order, making this difficult. Sometimes I can never actually find the story I was alerted of. Please fix!

M70%
by M####:

Just downloaded the app, and immediately I'm unable to even open any story in the feed. A bug here or there is one thing, but this makes the entire app useless. Please fix or let me know what's happening, because it's being uninstalled in the meantime.

Despite notifications being on, I haven't gotten any breaking news alerts for the past couple weeks. I have this app installed on a Nexus 6P. Edit: It's been almost a month and I have not received a single notification for breaking news. The update apparently didn't fix this issue.

Z70%
by Z####:

Used to love this app. For some reason, though, I have stopped receiving the news alerts. Haven't done anything to my settings so not sure why this would happen. Currently using Galaxy S7. Hope this gets corrected soon. Really miss getting the alerts.

Love the window option to read or dismiss any given breaking news story! I came to use this app after Breaking News shut down and I'm very pleased with the efficiency of AP. Information is well organized and easy to find. Thanks, AP!

M70%
by M####:

This used to be an excellent app that reported accurate news. Sadly it has gone downhill with the over biased views of the writers. PLEASE report the facts... Readers appreciate accurate news... and please stop with the election bashing. Whether we like it or don't a candidate has been elected. Time to move on.

F70%
by F####:

The app works well and hasn't crashed since installing. My only complaint is push notifications open to the main page list instead of the breaking news story itself.

M70%
by M####:

Loved the AP and had it for years. Hate it now ever since the push notifications STOPPED WORKING back in January!! Contacted you people several times and you don't even have the courtesy to get back to me with a fix!! Customer Service sucks and therefore I'm deleting the app!!

O70%
by O####:

The Associated Press has become an echo chamber for the elitists. Too much unverified FAKE news. Please hire some real journalists that know how to investigate without bias and report the facts.

M70%
by M####:

Bad version for S7. Like other reviewer haven't received notifications in months. They all the sudden stopped despite toggle being on and phone settings permitting them. Please fix ! Love it and have relied upon alerts for years now. If not fixed (samsung? Android? Ap mobile?) I will just delete it since never open or use it otherwise

by M####:

I have Uninstalled this app only to reinstall it later in hopes it was better. It's like breaking up with a bad boyfriend convinced he would change only to find he's still exactly the same! Why do you play with my emotions? I get these interesting alerts, and I think to myself "that's interesting, tell me more Associated Press" so I tap the alert and every damn time I have to dig and look for the story. Sometimes I never find it. Link the notifications to a freaking article already! At least sometimes.

M70%
by M####:

No longer receive notifications even though my notifications are turned on. Haven't gotten a notification in over a week, and I know stuff is happening! Very annoying, please fix this.

Y70%
by Y####:

Ever since I upgrade to the Google Pixel, I cannot get notifications to work on this app. I used to rely on AP for unbiased, easy to consume news, but without the notifications I don't have the same type up-to-date news access I've grown accustomed to from AP.

J70%
by J####:

I prefer AP because they're unbiased and cover everything. I use the app for notifications only. The UI is awful and dates back to 2011, and it just begged me to give a 5 star rating which made me go from 4 down to 3.

M70%
by M####:

As of this evening Jan. 6, content is not populating when opening the application. Possible problem with your servers? I have uninstalled and re-installed but no change. My internet connectivity is good.

Z70%
by Z####:

Love the app, but notifications don't seem to be working since the last update. On a Moto x play. Would love those to come back. AP is great and on the front line against fake news. Keep it up

M70%
by M####:

I've loved the AP forever. I truly miss your bells. I wish you would reintroduce them as an option for notifications within your app, again assigning importance to dictate the number that sound, and give users the option of turning them on or off. Especially in this political climate.

M70%
by M####:

No longer provides alert news popups. S7 edge nougat. Good news app. Need to add a function where the Alerts/popups that I receive are linked to the actual article. It is very annoying to have to scroll through titles trying to find the full article of the alert.

I70%
by I####:

I love this app. It continues to keep me up to speed and it's easy to use. and the news has very little "slant." Loading can be an issue depending on the story and you connection. And I love the fact that, with AP, I don't need to worry about fake news.

A70%
by A####:

Good news app, minus one star because you cannot easily find stories relates to the notifications that appear on your phone! If you click a notification, it should take you directly to that story...Instead it takes you to the main page and you have no idea where to look to find the whole story behind the headlines

R70%
by R####:

The app works fine. 1 star for the obvious liberal bias. I remember when journalists used to report the facts and people would form their own opinions. Nowadays, journalists are more like debaters, trying to sway political opinion to their point of view. At some point this can no longer be called journalism.

J70%
by J####:

I used to love this app, but I no longer get push notifications for breaking news. I downloaded this app specifically for the notifications, and I'm super disappointed that they're not working. I would be happy to raise my rating, if only the notifications worked.

M70%
by M####:

Get those damn hipster writers crying all the time off here. AP use to be my one place for unbiased news. Well that changed with all their young "journalists" just putting their opinion out there, or taking polls that are just punk 18 year old entitled kids. Once you finish weaving out the bias journalists, please fix notifications not opening the article it was sent for.

M70%
by M####:

Used to work very well. However, last few months I've stopped receiving any notifications, despite having them enabled in - app and in system settings as well as the app having appropriate permissions and power management turned off. App is useless without breaking news notifications. Galaxy S5

Q70%
by Q####:

Brilliant news source. App is lackluster though. I can look past the old school syrle in favor of usability, but I have stopped receiving news headline alerts when I was reviving around 4 a day. Setting for notifications is turned on

J70%
by J####:

The newspaper that the newspapers read. Bare bones facts with little bias. And it's not completely saturated with Trump headlines, which is a welcome relief...

M70%
by M####:

The latest update seems to have problems finding the internet. I have to relaunch several times before it will connect. Out used to be one of the better news app around. Not obtrusive and easy to use.

M70%
by M####:

I used to like it because it seemed unbiased. This is not the case anymore. There are always 2 sides to every story but you only give liberal opinion for the most part. All the best.

M70%
by M####:

One of the best left leaning news. It rates up there with NY TIMES, Huff Post, and Washington Post. Always good for a laugh. Thank goodness for the entertainment and sports section to save it from losing my interest.

M70%
by M####:

Finally seeing it work was a good start. It first worked when I bought the device. Then it stopped working entirely and never updated. It was stuck on articles from a date a few years ago. It was great at the start. Now? We'll see.

M70%
by M####:

In a time of alternative facts and incredibly biased news coverage, this app delivers high quality reporting and easy, free access to breaking news. I find the app intuitive though a bit clunky at times. I highly recommend downloading this and deleting/uninstalling any editorial news apps.
