L’idea di realizzare un’applicazione che possa permettere agli utenti, con facilità e in forma gratuita, di consultare un archivio completo in cui sono inserite le informazioni necessarie per contattare e/o raggiungere la guardia medica più vicina, nasce dalla constatazione di due principali criticità:

Nelle ore notturne, capita spesso che, anche per ottenere informazioni su sintomi di patologie evidentemente non gravi, si ricorre al Pronto Soccorso delle strutture ospedaliere pubbliche, ignorando l’esistenza del servizio di “Guardia Medica”.

Tale circostanza determina una serie di disservizi relativi sia al corretto funzionamento dell’offerta sanitaria pubblica sia per l’utenza.

Soprattutto, quando ci si trova (per motivi personali, turistici o di lavoro) al di fuori del proprio contesto residenziale, vi sono reali difficoltà per contattare il servizio di “Guardia Medica”. Ciò avviene perché non si è in possesso del contatto telefonico e a causa della scarsa conoscenza della zona geografica da cui si richiede il servizio.

È utile ricordare che la Guardia Medica è un servizio fornito da medici, che garantisce all'utenza assistenza di base sia telefonica per consulti sanitari, sia domiciliare per situazioni che rivestono carattere d'urgenza e che si verifichino durante le ore serali e notturne dei giorni feriali o nei giorni festivi.

L’applicazione permette all'utente l’accesso a un database in cui sono inseriti, nel dettaglio, i contatti di tutte le guardie mediche attive sul territorio italiano.
