About Boat Logger
Boat Logger is a powerful Cruising Log and Boat Information Management System. It features an easy to use intuitive interface that allows great flexibility in how you store your boating data.
Cruise Log module:
You can record complete cruise logs from day fishing trips to a circumnavigation. You can share individual log entries from the app. Choose to display cruise by name or show all cruises.
Vessel Info module:
Have detailed information about your boat's equipment at your fingertips when shopping for parts at the boating supply store. Create custom categories tailored to your needs.
Maintenance Log module:
Record routine boat maintenance and repairs. Track cost and time spent on your maintenance projects. Set tasks as "Completed", "In-process" or "To-Do" for a color coded To-Do list.
Fuel Log module:
Record fuel fill-up information and keep a running tally. Supports multiple boats.
Float Plan module:
File a float plan with a friend or family member before you leave on a cruise... this is one of the most important tools in your boat safety kit.
Display total time and cost for fuel and maintenance.
Backup and restore boat log data to/from external storage.
Export logs to CSV format files that can then be imported into your spreadsheet program
We respect your privacy completely. We do NOT collect or share any of your information.
This is a standalone app... no registration or additional fees are required. Internet access and GPS are not required to use Boat Logger.
Required permissions:
ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION - Needed to get GPS fix in the Cruising Log module (optional)
INTERNET - Needed to share Cruise Log entries (optional) and email your Float Plan
WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE - Needed to back up database to sdcard
READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE - Needed to restore database from sdcard

Boat Logger is nearly perfect. It is very convenient for recording all sorts of information about your boat. I use it on my tablet. But with no sync available it means when I am at a store with my phone I don't have that data. I tried to email the creator but the mail box is full.

Not for me. I wanted to log position on departure and arrival which does not seem possible. More suited to yachts and the like. Not really suitable for canal boating!

I am a mate on a riverboat/tug and we have a lot of maintenance to keep up with and I'm really looking for an app that I can set reminders such as when to change racor fuel filters, when to grease linkage for rudders, things that often get overlooked thru the passing crew changes. This is the closest I've found so far, being one of the few maintenance log apps not set up for cars. Maybe you guys could implement some of these features to make this app extremely useful to the towboat world.

I tried to email the developer, but my email was returned undeliverable. If I get a GPS fix within this app and then exit the app, the GPS stays running. I have to force stop the app to get my GPS to turn back off. Also, there needs to be more places to add information to the boat category. Needs make and model, size, type of vessel, HIN, name of boat, engine size and type, etc. Shouldn't have to make a new category for each thing. Using a Motorola Razr Maxx, running Android 4.0.4.

Very useful. I use it for recording my yacht data etc. You can export the data, an sqlite file to a pc and read and write to the file. I use DB browser for sqlite. Copying the file back to the phone and restoring the file then has fresh records in the app. It's a bit clunky but works each time.
