Je kunt nu meer te weten komen over de geschiedenis van Schoonhoven in de periode toen Holland werd aangevallen door de Fransen. Deze wandeling met routebeschrijving door Schoonhoven toont diverse historische locaties met achtergrondinformatie en educatieve vragen voor jong volwassenen in het Voortgezet Onderwijs.

In de 17e eeuw maakten de Hollanders gebruik van de Oude Hollandse Waterlinie om het Franse leger tegen te houden. Verschillende delen van het land werden onder water gezet, zodat transport over land niet mogelijk was. Op cruciale plaatsen langs deze waterdelen werden vestingen aangelegd. In Schoonhoven zijn diverse onderdelen van de Hollandse Waterlinie nog zichtbaar.
Met de App krijgt u een wandelkaart van Schoonhoven waarop meer informatie over de Franse bezetting, de Hollandse Waterlinie en andere historische plekken is te vinden en met behulp van vragen de geschiedenis meer bewust wordt gemaakt.
