De Nederlandse Vereniging voor Heelkunde is de wetenschappelijke beroepsvereniging voor chirurgen en artsen in opleiding tot chirurg.
De kwaliteit van de chirurgische zorg in Nederland is goed. Het kan echter altijd beter. De veranderingen in de zorg volgen elkaar in hoog tempo op. De NVvH zit boven op de ontwikkelingen en behartigt de belangen van de leden door zo proactief mogelijk te handelen zonder daarbij uit het oog te verliezen voor wie we ons dagelijks met hart en ziel inzetten: de patiënt.
De chirurg is gedreven door kwaliteit en heeft als doel de patiënt de best mogelijke zorg te bieden en is hier ook op aan te spreken. Bij het leveren van de best mogelijke zorg hoort ook zo efficiënt mogelijk werken om de zorg betaalbaar en voor iedereen toegankelijk te houden. De beroepsgroep innoveert in kwaliteit & veiligheid, opleiding en praktijkvoering.
Bijna alle in Nederland geregistreerde en praktiserende chirurgen zijn lid van de NVvH. De vereniging heeft 2000 leden.

VAGH The Dutch Society for Surgery is the scientific professional association for surgeons and doctors in surgical training.
The quality of surgical care in the Netherlands is good. However, it can always be improved. The changes in health care follow each other in rapid succession. The NVvH sits atop the developments and represents the interests of its members by acting without losing sight of who we with heart and soul to our everyday sight as proactive as possible: the patient.
The surgeon is driven by quality and aims the patient the best possible care to offer and also to speak. On When delivering the best possible care should also work as efficiently as possible to keep. Care affordable and accessible to everyone The profession innovates in quality & safety, training and practical experience.
Almost all registered in the Netherlands and practicing surgeons are members of the NVvH. The association has 2,000 members.
