Love the easy configuration options. And, away go the annoying ads!
One more forced full-screen pop-ups self promoting ad, I'll remove You. Adblocking app shouldn't have behave like what it intend to kill/fix/eliminate.
I love using it. Sometimes have to wait for the page to fully load for the ads to disappear. Removing one star for no option to import bookmarks from chrome. It'll be a 5 star with that feature. Also, please add the feature to drag down to refresh page. Really need that.
I have been using Chrome for some time and read about Ad locker and installed it. With out all the pop-up adds floating around, it almost seems boring. I like this browser so much, it's my first choice to use. Thank you, and Cheers, Rocky, (. Y .)
It's working! No pop ads, scam, annoying message... Just plain simple... No bother! Must have it! Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Android 5.0 UPDATES to verison 1.10 : It doesn't work.. Too many bugs, worse than verison 1.0.. Unhappy.. 5 stars down to 1.. Horrible and worse than ever.. I did clear and data under android management.. Still not work! Uninstalled and I'm getting v1.0
Clunky web browser with slow loading. And it doesn't block YouTube or Pandora ads, which are arguably the most annoying ads to face this earth.
Nothing stops all ads but this is pretty good. What I didn't expect is how smooth the UI is. Very nice to use. It's bland but that's what we want. This saves data and time. Good app. The only thing chrome has on this is Google search has more features built in. Other than that this has it all.
The UI looks dated, and it isn't as speedy as chrome. Taking into account this is a new app, it is a great start as this blocks ads in non rooted devices that friends and family use to have. For rooted devices, better, systemwide solutions such as AdAway exist
This browser could be very good, however it's never updated and from what I've experienced it has many bugs and rarely stops adverts, popups and evil play store redirects (making it really useless for purpose and makes me wonder about all the publicity and dark deals with advertisers they've been getting) although it crashes less than AdBlock Plus. I would recommend using AdAway and Firefox which AdBlock Browser is based on. AdAway requires Root and is much like AdBlock Plus but more stable and will work with all your browsers
What good is an ad blocking browser that doesn't block ads? A philosophical question with a simple answer: useless. Ever since the recent updates and joining the "acceptable ads" program, which has become a scam, overlays, obtrusive ads that block huge portions of the page, and long load times have all returned. Thanks for earning our trust, the selling out. Uninstalling now...
It's working great and boocks all unwanted ads. But it's not perfect for my daily use: for some reason i have to access websites identified malware/phishing site, and it does contains bad things, that's exactly i need ad blocking. Can we make those nice phishing site warning configurable? It's really nice but for me its annoying especially when im aware of the risk. PleaSe add a check box like "im aware of the risk and dont show this warning for this site"....
Seems to work though is slower than Chrome. Scrolling is sluggish and laggy at times. Wish they based this browser off of Chrome instead of Firefox. But hey, it blocks ads. Also I really hate that Taboola is considered an "acceptable ad". I swear I am trying this browser to avoid that garbage cluttering the page I'm trying to read.
ABP is "forced" (with large sums of cash) by much larger companies like Google to have certain default settings, if you want the functionality it is there, but you need to configure it to work properly. This is the future of adblocking. large corporations paying to have their ads hit your eyeballs by default. In case you've ever wondered why people make a big deal about certain default settings, it's because most people don't bother to change settings of any kind ever, and "they" know that. If you want to have all ads blocked and configure nothing, too bad. you don't have that privilege anymore. It's time to stop glorifying your ignorance and learn how to change settings, it's 2015.
Was fine for a while, since yesterday app crashes everything I open it. Updated today now it reboots my phone every time it is opened.
Have tried various browsers & always go back to Chrome. Not this time though, Adblock Browser is perfect for me.
Occasionally shuts itself sometimes but it's better than bombarded by flashing ads. If it's slow to load, I assume the page is filled with too many ads and not worth opening so I don't mind not being able to browse those pages.
The app could use some optimization. I downloaded it to make some websites notorious for intrusive ads to load faster but that only happened a few times. I wont delete it though, for now I use it as a secondary browser. Hoping it will improve after a few updates.
At first I was really impressed. I've been a paying supporter of add block for several years now. About 2 weeks after installing the browser, I'm back to dealing with agressive pop ups that block the content I'm trying to read or watch. I don't know if the data sucking devs that write the adds have found a work around or if the problems in the browsers coding itself, but I'm switching back to chrome. This is a slow browser, and I only tolerated it because at the time it was blocking pop ups. Adds suck!
While i am open onhax and some other eebsite when i touch the web page it looks please wait and redirected to playstore and app page is openings like jabong mynthra and other to install and downloading from this websites takes so much time it takes 1m 37s to download 3 mb file with 5mbps
The app gets 1 star because it just flat doesn't work blocks nothing.
I've been using Adblock in some form for a good decade. This browser is a great addition and does its job. It's great that it gives you the option to allow non-annoying ads to better the industry. By the way, if you see ads on YouTube that means the YouTube video is probably still opening up in YouTube app and not in this browser. To open YouTube videos up in this browser you need to make sure is that you request the desktop site on YouTube.
As much as I'd love to use this browser, there are some bugs. In example, on Facebook if you want to send someone a picture, it doesn't give you the option to choose gallery or camera, it just goes straight to camera and won't let you send anything from the gallery. And any time I try to go back and correct words, it automatically brings up the copy/paste window. It only does this on the browser.
I had to sit through multiple ads for the new Justin Bieber album while trying to watch less annoying things on YouTube. Not one ad got blocked no matter what I did in the settings.
I used to be a dolphin browser user just to be able to get a browser which blocks ads. But as compared to the dolphin whose interface sucked and ad blocker add on was average, this browser is really good! Only problem is the browser does not work too well on all the websites, compatibility issues. Have to fall back on chrome at that time.
Im not clear here. What is the business model of this app? Im a user who is not installing "high permission"-apps. This was the first one, i know about. And after i installed it and started it, seconds later, i get my first "Spam-SMS". So i have interest in knowing if you guys have sold my private data.
Good blocking. But need much more improvement. 1. Fix many bugs; such as ... when opening application always lacking sometime it's not responding, long loading time, and so on... . 2. Add some functions; slide closing tab, 3D animation (Make more interesting), and so on... . Sorry for my English. Yours sincerely.
Flawless! All I did was *read* and changed the default settings to block every ad. So far, no ads. In fact there were a couple of websites that kept crashing on me (BBC, Walmart, & a pair of local television news website), now, with no ads, they haven't crashed yet! Wow, I knew ads were a problem, I just didn't realize just how much of an issue they were.
for an app specifically designed to block ads on my browser, it works 0% as advertised. every single video has ads on every single website used. do not waste your time. not sure how this has 4.1 stars.
Used to be very slow. Seems fast enough after some updates. I think it drains more battery than the stock browser. Doesn't support s-pen scrolling.
Web surfing is great without imagination and concentration destruction by ad .
So glad to see all the ads and pop ups gone. It's also easy to setup and has a decent speed. Keep on the great work!
its a bit confusing to change ur home page. At least it confused me and im sure im not the only one. But apart from that its a really nice browser that removes 99% of the annoying adds that usually pops up when i visit a bunch of websites. Thank you adblock
My browser of choice. As long as I don't have to look at annoying ads it is so much easier to enjoy looking at websites.
Blocks ads but some sites are quite jerky while scrolling when other sites are ok. The jerky sites are ok however in Chrome... So have not been using it as a main browser unfortunately
What a great experience it is to browse the internet and not being bothered by constant pop ups all the time, bogging down the experience and ruining what little time I got at work to play with my phone... LOL... Anyways because of the elimination of adds pages load a lot faster as well as video and pictures. I love Google Chrome as my principal browser but it's pop-up blocker is abysmal compared to this. Big ups to this company!!!
No ads on certain things. Still ads on YouTube, weirdly there isn't an option to play something directly from the browser... you have to download the file. Like podcasts for instance.
Great browser. The only down sides are that it is not as quick as chrome and the menu button is hidden. FYI OP2 users - long press the right soft key to get to menu.
I'd recommend this based on my experience. Has some bugs both visual and can rarely crash on some phones but has been pretty good for me so far. Still not as reliable as a regular browser but still very usable.
Uninstalled. Did not block anything. Still had to skip youtube ads. Blocked absolutely nothing. Don't bother with this app.
Works better than just having adblock on other browsers. I hate those obnoxious soft porn ads and 'stupid 1 weird trick' ads and it's such a shock when I open other browsers now to see all the crap. Adblock is too awesome.
