I don't get it for all that!!!
Growing up in the lightning belt I would ride to the beach to watch the thunderstorms. I'm in the mountains now and photograph lightning. Great tool, very accurate.
Range circles and location don't seem to work.
Be 5 stars if it had push notifications
Does not show my location..
It's a great app all it needs now is the thunder rings showing when the thunder will hit
Brilliant app shows me where all the lightning strike are
Fantastic and accurate. Addiction when the weather turns stormy
Nice, but does not display my location or distance rings. This is supposed to be a feature.
Refuses to show my location. Fails to link strikes to tracking stations.
Can't get past splash screen on Samsung S7 active. Cool app on other Androids that work
The show my location bit is broken, so I have to zoom by hand.
It was okay, a good reliable app. However I've had it just over a month and all of a sudden it doesn't show the precipitation, which is slightly disappointing for me and makes me question the reliability and validity of this entire app. Easy enough to use and would be perfect if the issues were resolved.
Good app but has issues. Occasionally quits to desktop and only 5 minute lifespan for displaying lightning works. Choose 30 minutes or 20 minutes and the strikes still disappear after 5 minutes.
To move the center of the bullseye Circle put your finger, *ON* the red circle itself (NOT the center of the circle) and drag the circle so that it is centered where you live. This is an utterly fantastic application. If you want to know about lightning strikes near you - get this app.
Downloaded on to a Samsung Tablet 10.1 Note. All seemed okay at first, but then after exiting the app for a few minutes and then going back in, I noticed the blue squares of the detectors were missing. After a while they came back and then went again. This seems to be happening all the time. Also, only once have I ever seen the distance circles around my location, despite having the option for them ticked. A shame it has these bugs, as it seems more accurate than some other storm warning apps.
Like the version on the website, this app does a great job of displaying lightning strikes and precipitation radar. Triangulation accuracy used to be quite poor for the UK, but it has gotten better in the past couple of years. I've tried several lightning tracker apps, and this seems to be one of the better ones.
Looks fine, smooth and easy to use. However, it did not show my location on the map, nor did it show the distance circles. Still needs work. Also adding an alert for strikes within 10 miles would be nice. Question: Do the expanding circles around strikes represent speed of sound for thunder? Galaxy S7, Android 6.0.1, AT&T
On my Marshmallow LG G4 I had zero issues with this app. It worked great every time. Since installing on my new Nougat S7 the location marker and range rings do not show. I tried setting the resolution of the device down to see if that was the issue, but nothing I do will make them show. Other than that, it still works well.
Best lightning app ever!
5 stars ! Working perfectly. Thank you.
What a wait of time
Why doesn't TASMANIA have a station but other nations do.? They are part of Australia too mate
Lightning hit a tree in my yard and closest strike was 6 miles away.
Works with nexus 7 could use high detail storm images also works with HTC desire 626
It's losing connection. Worked the 1st day just fine. Uninstalled and installed it again. Same thing.
Blitzertung has had a website for years and I have been a fan since first discovering it. To now have an android app that I can have on my Kindle Fire and Asus Nexus is a winner all around. Glad to see it got the Android treatment. Highly recommended to all...this app has been running flawless on both devices. Granted there is a procedure to do on the Fire to get apk's running right and even that is easily found online. Thanks for keeping it free!
Blitzortung published the required ports for the App to work through WiFi on a restrictive firewall promptly and courteously. They actually appologized for not publishing the information earlier and were very polite and extremely helpful once the problem was reported. The response was that the port information should have been documented long ago and that this was an oversight error on the part of Blitzortung. Never have I encountered such a helpful and extremely proactive and helpful response! Now that I can access it from home using WiFi to reduce data usage ... thumbs up! Thanks The only other request would be to modify the app tp first try WiFi (if connected) and if the connection cannot be made, switch to the Android Data mode for the Android and NOT just issue NO CONNECTION and fail.
As an amature radio operator this works great. When I hear lightning crashes I can see where they are. Would be nice to see entire map active instead of searching zones though. Would like to put this on TV with a smart TV app or at least the ability to "cast" to the TV as my android does with youtube and other apps.
Can you add an option for raw radar data?
Radar messing up again...
Is this the only live view? Other apps seem to be on a five minute poll.
A great app, but it would be nicer if the animated strike circles expanded at the speed of sound...
I had no idea that there are so many strikes happening. I am continually amazed. Thanks for the info
Lightning around me but not really showing it onthe map
