How come a "dictionary" apps cost more than $100 only provide pronounciation but without any explanation or meaning of the word I looked up!!! I just felt ripped off

D70%
by D####:

What's the point of letting us download for free if the first thing we have to do is pay to use it? Really scummy!

L70%
by L####:

I thought I am getting the dictionary with British pronunciations, but when I paid 13USD I noticed its just bunch of words pronunciation only. I am very disappointed but don't know how to get refunded.

D70%
by D####:

It will not let you trial it except for a few terms, and asks for a lot of money to get a full version. I am currently using an online version of it which is free so why should I pay to have the same funcionality if it is free online.

D70%
by D####:

Garbage, just an app to tell you to buy in order you can use it. Install and uninstall immediately.

The best pronouncing dictionary ever, great help for learners of English. Warning: no definitions, "just" pronunciation

I don't get it why many people are complaining about this app. This app is almost perfect. It provides two different pronunciations - American and British with phonetic alphabets. It allows you to make flashcards on its newest update. It also explains when you pronounce particular words differently. I have been using this app for more than a year and it's helped me to improve my pronunciation. I've never encountered any problems. This app is worth buying. Those people who have problems with this app either have something wrong with their phones or they are not willing to pay. I highly recommend this app for English language learners.

remember to read in TINY print under the Cambridge arms 'for phones only'. it won't work on a tablet. 1 star for attempting to hide the skid mark on their shorts.

Very useful with pronunciation entries for every word. (Easier, easiest, etc.) Unique!

N70%
by N####:

It is not up to standard like the one on the computer system. It lacks one important feature which is the feature that has all the 44 phonetic. I am a diction teacher so I was thinking I could use it for e-learning when the battery of my system goes down, but due to the unavailability of the said feature, it is limited, and as such, it doesn't fit or serve the purpose. I would have bought it using my credit card but it will be a waste.

I wanted to install cambridge advanced learners dictionary and found this dictionary, i paid 10 usd but only pronunciation, no definition! No phonetic symbol... Regret to have paid for this

G70%
by G####:

Paying 8.5 pounds for no definition and spelling support is very disappointing! why on earth paying for this app only to learn pronunciation ?

N70%
by N####:

Because it is showing free but after installing asking to pay above rs600, really cambridge University deceiving people

N70%
by N####:

Ive always used Cambridge dictionary as an online source but this mobile app is BS! Its NOT free, it installs for free and then asks you to pay in order to access anything other than a list of words. LEO is a much better model of what a dictionary app should be, its free but your premium service removed ads and adds functions.

N70%
by N####:

This dictionary don't worth the deal. Just pronunciation without any definition. I very disappointed, I feel like being cheated.

N70%
by N####:

If it's not free . You don't say it's free

Buy app from Oxford University Press instead.

N70%
