This app is really useful but desperately needs a desktop companion as typing reflections is much easier with a proper keyboard and screen than on a mobile device. I am sure I'm not the only one who uses this to quickly log an activity in real time but then reflects later on.

App has the odd crash and can have trouble when using two devices. It would be useful if there was a web interface to make it possible to add items when on a desktop/laptop and even better would be if there was a QR code associated with a journal article that could be scanned to add the article to the database.

Recently found that app is using a lot of background data (almost 900mb in last 28 days). Why is that?

This is a brilliant app. Surprised by the poor reviews which I put down mainly to frustrated users of rooted devices (and the GMC makes a good case for not allowing it to work) and a hypercritical medical profession I know only too well. It allows quick-fire recording of reflective practice we all engage in but can't make time to sit at a desk, log in, etc Don't have to worry about my appraisal anymore. Second best work-related app after NICE BNF. Thank you GMC!

Does not work with rooted devices for some reason

Unfortunately can't give zero stars as doesn't work. Surely all data stored by app will only be relevant to user so what extra risk posed by root ? Root users are likely to understand mobile security.

I like the app! Cross platform and a really comprehensive approach. I don't understand why they've restricted root users from using it?

D70%

Will not work on my rooted phone. Disappointed.

In principle a GMC sanctioned app is a no brainer. However, I would not recommend it. It does not left me try to entry stuff Offline, it is trying to link to the account. I have reverted to the tried and tested Evernote. 1Star for now. Maybe future iterations will improve...

Says device is rooted, while its not

Does not support rooted devices. This makes it useless for me

App won't even run because phone is rooted. #Fail

Despite your security advisers recommending the app should not work on rooted devices, it sounds like many healthcare professionals use rooted devices, making your app unfortunately worthless to many of us.

F70%
by F####:

Useless on my rooted device. The GMC say this is for security reasons. No patient-identifiable data should be present in the appraisal record however it is stored so (unless for some unknown reason there is other 3rd party information being used by the app) I don't see why I can't be treated as an adult and allowed to decide whether to take the chance of someone getting to see my appraisal info. Quite honestly anyone is welcome to see mine. We believe in patient choice - how about giving doctors a choice?

Looks good but when I try to register to use it, it returns an error, stating a problem with connectivity (although there is no problem with connectivity on any other app) therefore I cannot use it. Contacted them about it but after a couple of email exchanges, they stopped replying. Shame, as I would really like to give it a go.

E70%
by E####:

Is there not an alternative means of protecting the data? Encryption / password etc. Have alienated a lot of people by not allowing on rooted devices.

Great app - pretty intuitive, visually appealing, perfect for recording learning on the go, really easy to export entries... BUT the Colleges (RCP in my case) need to allow importing of entries into their CPD diaries (I got round the problem by uploading the exported .pdf and .csv into my ePortfolio - PYA tomorrow: wish me luck!)

No more dogeared certificates! Store all your cpd and reflect as and when you can, in the sane way you keep a logbook.

Along with many other people's comments - I think you need to rethink the security aspects of not running on any rooted device based on the number of comments here.

This is a great app that let's you log your clinical progression as well as keep up to date with key ethical and clinical hot topics. Would definitely recommend it.

Unfortunately I require root access, and for some unknown reason the app is restricted not to work with root. Utterly useless to me and many others now.
