About Help@Hand: Emergency Button

Help@Hand allows you to send emergency messages to your Trusted Contacts with the single press of a button. The test message contains your location and the type of emergency you are facing. As long as the alarm beacon is active, your Trusted Contacts will keep receiving your updated location with a specified time interval.

You have multiple options available to activate the emergency alarm to send messages:
• Activate the emergency beacon by going into the app, you can also specify the type of emergency you are facing. Use this option when you are not facing a critical emergency.
• You can place a widget on your home-screen to activate the beacon. This saves your time but you will not be able to specify the type of emergency you are facing.
• In extreme situations or when you just don’t have the time to unlock your lockscreen to access the app, just press the power button 3 times to activate the beacon. This allows you to send emergency messages discreetly to your Trusted Contacts

Whenever you activate the emergency beacon, a notification will be created to let you know that the beacon is active, and emergency messages are being sent to your Trusted Contacts. Once you deactivate the emergency beacon, the app will stop sending more messages.

More Features:
If the recipient of emergency messages also has Help@Hand installed on their device, the app will sound an alarm on receiving an emergency message from a Trusted Contact, and let the recipient know that their Trusted Contact is in trouble so that appropriate action can be undertaken. The app also tracks and maps all the received emergency alerts using Google Maps. All the private is stored on the device, we do not store any personal information on our servers (for more details, see our privacy policy).
You can also get the location of your Trusted Contacts using the app. For this to work, your Trusted Contact needs to have the Help@Hand installed, and you have to be listed as a Trusted Contact in the app. The Trusted Contact also needs to allow you to get their location.
This app uses the GSM network sending and receiving messages, therefore, even if your Trusted Contacts are in a location where internet coverage is not available, you will still be able to get and send the location coordinates (getting the location name requires internet access, therefore without internet access you will only be able to get the location coordinates).
