로타리의 목적은 봉사의 이상을 모든 가치있는 사업 활동의 기초가 되도록 고취하고 육성하며, 특히 다음 사항을 힘써 행하는데 있다.

첫째. 봉사의 기회를 마련하기 위하여 交友(교우)의 범위를 넓힌다.

둘째. 사업과 전문직업의 도덕적 수준을 높이고 모든 유익한 직업의 眞價(진가)를 인식하며, 로타리안 각자는 자기 직업을 통하여 사회에 봉사할 수 있도록 직업의 품위를 높인다.

셋째. 로타리안 각자의 개인 생활이나 사업 및 사회생활에서 봉사의 이상을 실천한다.

넷째. 봉사의 이상으로 결합된 사업인과 전문직업인들은 세계적 友誼(우의)를 통하여 국제간의 이해와 친선과 평화를 증진한다. The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of business activities in all the value, in particular to encourage and foster a row following.

first. Widen the scope of the 交友 (companionship) as an opportunity for service;

second. High ethical standards in business and professions; the recognition of the 眞 價 (real value) of all useful occupations, and the dignifying of each Rotarian occupation as an opportunity to serve society through his job.

third. The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian personal, business, and community life.

fourth. The united in the ideal of service and professional saeopin to promote international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world 友誼 (Wu).
