Easy automatic setup for popular email providers:
Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, FastMail, Apple mail services (@me.com / @icloud.com), GMX, AOL, and more. Recognizes mail accounts hosted at Google Apps, Yahoo BizMail, and others.
Works with many other email services via standard Internet email protocols (IMAP, POP3, SMTP).
IMAP push mail (instant incoming email delivery) for those servers that support the IDLE extension (Gmail, GMX, AOL… not supported by Yahoo, for Hotmail please see the FAQ the app's web site).
Microsoft Exchange is supported via IMAP or EWS:
Exchange (EWS) accounts provide access to server side contacts (personal and global, with search), and Calendar sync. Recognizes mail accounts hosted at Office 365 and Exchange Online.
Plays well with other email apps that you may be using to access your IMAP or EWS mailbox. Uses existing folder structure, can synchronize drafts, sent, and deleted messages.
Improved security (OAUTH2) for Gmail and Hotmail.
Widgets (message counts, message list).
Swiping in message list (actions) and between messages.
Can save attachments as files.
Message auto-fit (like in Gmail).
Rich text formatting when writing messages (including embedding images, in the signature too).
Android Wear (4.3+).
OAUTH2 for Gmail (Google's preferred, "more secure" authentication method).
Integration with Tasker (change settings, trigger mail check, message based events).
Integration with Light Flow, Enhanced SMS & Caller ID, Cloud Print, Apex Launcher Pro, Nova Launcher / Tesla Unread, Executive Assistant, DashClock Widget.
Lots of settings to configure the application just the way *you* would like. Separate settings for WiFi and mobile connections.
Backup and restore of app and account settings via Dropbox, OneDrive, Box.com, Google Drive.
This is the Lite version, which is limited to two accounts, no identities, and adds a promo signature to all outgoing messages with a link to the program's web site.
You can add more than two accounts, use identites, and remove the promo signature by purchasing the Pro Unlocker app here on Play.
The app is available in (translated into) more than a dozen languages. Please see the web site for the list, a Google Play policy won't let me include it here.

I was dissatisfied with the native email app that came with my phone, so one afternoon I installed three other apps, one after another. When I came to Aqua Mail I knew that I'd found what I was looking for. It is highly configurable, easy to use, and just works well. I sprang for the Pro version so I could use it on more than just two accounts. The Pro version also removes the "Aqua Mail tag" from outgoing emails. I've used it for a few weeks now and am very pleased. Pros: highly configurable, can access many different kinds of accounts including POP, easy to use, stable Cons: cannot be put on the SD card
Update July 2018: Continue to love this app. Lately I've been struggling with unstable Android apps and Aquamail continues to stand out. In the time I've had it, the app has been rock-steady. It has _never_ crashed. Job well done. (Original comments:) Love the features and reliability of this app. It's a great improvement over Gmail in the raw, as it were.
Downgrade to 3: the client should auto fill mail ids based on whom the mails have been received. It tries to contact the server every time. Every thing in this app is great. For a 5, global contact sync from outlook is a must (right now gives only mail ID)
This is a great product. There are some other quality email products for Android, but this one comes with something special - real support. The developer responds quickly and is extremely helpful. I'm truly tired of apps that are useless because there is no support when something isn't clear or doesn't work. In addition, the product has one feature - quick replies - that are essential to me. Canned responses are important for my business. I also run it on a Chromebook, where it is the best tool I have tried.
Opens fast, scrolls smoothly, plenty of options for user personalization. Available alternate colors for read messages a plus. Black background option lessens eyestrain. Easy to add senders to Contacts. After many frustrations with "k-@mail Pro," I decided to try this one. One caveat---I wish I could access my own fonts when composing special messages, like formal invites and such.
I initially loved it, but as I used it more, weaknesses became apparent. It works well with all email servers. It has a lot of options and is somewhat attractive. The main problem was with images. Some images imbeded came through fine, others did not. I emailed the developer and never got a response. I had the pro version.
The look, functionality and ability to customize are the best I have seen in a free email client. I especially appreciate the swipe to delete function. However, ever since I downloaded the app, my spam has increased 100%. Otherwise, it would get 5 stars.
Much more flexible and configurable than all the others, and easier to setup than K-9. Can be setup to look like Blue Mail, which has a nice UI, but Aqua has many more features that make it more convenient to use. The multi-identities/accounts feature in the Pro version is especially great. None better.
Always works, no issues. Great design, clean look. So many adjustable features! Takes a bit to set up for personal preference but great once set. Con: Difficult to manage folders, can not create a folder in an existing folder.
Used for over a year on a Galaxy S3. Excellent performance. However, just realized that bcc not working. Seldom use bcc, but my bcc messages are not being received. The cc works just fine. Five stars when bcc problem fixed. Note: bcc not working on my wife's Nexus either. UPDATE 30 Sept 2916. Problem is at MSN. COM. AquaMail working great!
There have been 2 issues with it. Most frustrating is that even when I choose to send by my preferred @live.co.uk email address, it sends by a different one that is part of the same microsoft account (even if this is to do with Microsoft's servers, Thunderbird can send the same emails with the correct, preferred address so it must be fixable!!). I actually can't remember the second issue I had but it was insignificant.. Otherwise this app is perfect and highly configurable
I am a Pro User for several years and would probably pay more for this app. It is really exceptional and virtually error free (Nexus 6p, Android 6.01). In paying for the app, my expectation is that is would be free of ads. The only annoying thing lately are some advertising pop ups in the unlocked version. If you need more cash, ask your Pro users for a donation and keep the ads out. Thanks.
I have been using this app for over two years. It has all the features I need, no ads, very easy to use, you have the option to delete or mark as read from notification bar without even opening the app. Overall a very good app that is worth the 5*.
I like the app. But they need to add a way to mark mail as spam. Needs a way to easily move mail between folders. Needs a way to contact support. Only being directed to a forum to try and search for an answer is annoying :(
Wow. It has Material Design, it is quick, snappy, beautiful and functional. It is, without doubt, the best email app I've used. It is also one of the few apps I've purchased. Just please, make "Select All" select EVERYTHING, and not just visible emails!
It has a few quirks, like "select all" only selects those messages that are visible -- not all messages in folder. (So have to keep scrolling and "select all" repeatedly to truly get all.) But quirks aside, it is a great app.
Just installed on yet another device, have used on probably 6-10 devices. And while setting up my options, I accidentally hit the menu item called "Mark All Read". Got NO confirm Q!! Now its changed all my 1000s of emails to be marked read, in every app I have for email. I am sick to my stomach to the point of throwing up & almost in tears. All of the history of my email, my CAREFUL tracking, ability to track years of emails from relatives, friends around the world, loved ones, professional. All marked read
The personalization, depth of options and continuous improvement make this the absolute best email option available. Every other email option falls short. This is a pure mail app... and I love it...
There's no way to manage notifications by contact so I'm constantly getting notifications from people i don't care about.
App developer personally handles support. He got back to me quite quickly. Educated me about things I didn't know. Explained how a particular feature worked in his app. Cancelled and refunded the order upon my request.
August 2016: issue 1, smart folder view, delete icon does not delete selected message unless it is pressed 3 or 4 times. This is VERY annoying. Gmail& inbox NOT display this Issue. Issue 2, spam function does not learn & does not automatically remove messages to spam folder no matter how many times a repeatedly received message is flagged as spam. What's the point of having a spam option??
I've tried them all, but no other email app supports so many features for free. I would give it 5 stars if it wasn't so damn ugly
Super fast app (using it w/ gmail acct)! The amount of customization is staggering. I absolutely LOVE this app... my new Gmail client forever! Everything just works perfectly. Purchased the pro key to support this excellent developer.
Never synchro at regular intervals even though settings are done. I purchased it, made a mistake. Free applications in play store are even better.
And the developer (who I once wrote to personally to thank) just never stops improving it; never stops keeping up with the latest Android APIs. BUY this beautiful feature-full mail client. You'll be happy you did!
When something says it's free I expect it to be free. I could only add 2 email accounts after that you have to pay. If I had known I would never wasted my time. And so I deleted it.
I have been using this app for a while and it is the best and I have tried the others. Thank you.
Way better than default app or anybof others i tried and even better than desktop outlook for conversations. Problem with battery drain since update to 22.214.171.124 though. Running at 8% since than.
Password option seems redundant cause all you have to is go to accounts in settings and accounts are unlocked. So best to just lock your device from lock screen.
Exchange web mail and calendar integration. My goto app for work related communication.
Somehow, I could not get this app to display a combined inbox for two different email accounts? I constantly had to switch btw yahoo email and exchange account. That made it too cumbersome to use IMHO
Perfect for numerous email accounts. Great features. And the upgrade is cheap and even better. Good for business and pleasure and is a verified Google app
After latest update notification stays on even if no unread mail please fix it...other then that ist great! Aqua mail needs update please update it
Even thought I paid for the Pro version I think it will have to go as it is eating my battery. Pity as it is an sound honest app but battery life it too important Back to the simpler built-in Samsung Email
After reviewing close to 10 different email apps, Aquamail must be declared the clear winner. Best approach to nested IMAP folders. Fast and simple UI, great attachment handling, offline mode and msg. prefetch settings. Vast customization options, quick bug fixes and new feature intros, no unnecessary app lockups. You name it and Aquamail soon has it. One feature I miss on Samsung GN2 though - 'double tap to scroll all the way to top/bottom'. Few apps support this, namely the Samsung native Contacts.
Looked hard for a decent replacement for cloud magic as I cannot justify the ongoing amount they requested. I may have found it. Being able to save to sd card would be great as phones and devices always need storage space. Good product keep up the good work.
Not only is it way easier to set up than the standard phone apps, it retrieved thousands of emails in no time!
This is a solid email client, but there are a couple of key features that I would need to give it the fifth star. First, I need the ability to assign custom notifications/rules to individual senders. Also, I need the ability to suppress notifications for emails that I send to myself (where the sender and recipient addresses match). Both of these features are available in other email clients. Please consider these as enhancements.
Brilliant app! Was looking for one that could handle multiple email accounts, and did not store my email account passwords on a server (such as Alto, Bluemail, etc). I've got full control over my email with Aqua Mail. Only minor thing, is that it doesn't support Thunderbird's / Mozilla's auto detect for account settings. Bought the pro key!
