About Primitive FTPd

A simple FTP server. Allows to exchange files with other machines over wifi. No more USB cable searching. Runs without root privileges. Is not started when device boots (but can if you wish). Control yourself when the server runs. While it runs it prevents standby to avoid long uploads and downloads to abort (configurable). Transfers can be encrypted by SFTP.

This is the exact thing i was looking for. I purchased some apps but none are better than this. It is far better than the paid alternatives. Thank you so much dev

Would be perfect if it would contain permission request for storage like sdcard write. It does not play good on MM or N. Please add the sdcard write request from the OS. Using it on an Nvidia Shield TV.

On nougat getting issue with server start directory. Once set to sd card cant change to internal phone memory. Basically cant find the path to internal memory just by going through directory listing. Right now to change that i had to clear app data so that server start directory goes to default internal memory....

Seems outdated. Seems not to work with the new Marshmallow SD card write restrictions.

In sftp mode, /storage is inaccessible, only the root dir. Midnight Commander cannot connect in ftp mode. Caja file manager does not connect automatically to default ftpd dir. So, There seems to be too many small quirks...

This app rocks!! Simply works, fast, basic, and easy...ftp and sftp options, best one I've used from Play. No issues with adoptable storage. Makes it easy to move photos and files quickly between devices.

Perfect for file transfer between mobile and pPC. But need external sd authorization for lollipop and up. Please add the feature to enable direct transfer to memory card from PC

BEST FTP SERVER APP

M70%
by M####:

Perfect. Love the app

N70%

But I have some issue with it. FTP server works fine, but for SFTP (what I prefer to use) I can't switch home directory to emulated sdcard. It always starts from root directory and I can't access to the emulated sdcard because of permission restrictions for some directories on the path to the sdcard. Also I can't enter to sdcard by symlink "/sdcard" at root directory. Pls fix it if possible.

Thank you for great tool, now I don't use USB cable anymore and it's so comfortable! App of the year - also on android 6 works just fine for me

M70%

Doesn't support external SD card writing permission on Marshmallow. Useless for me.

M70%
by M####:

No way to access SD card through FTP, other apps allow that.

M70%
by M####:

it's really stupid to allow us to change the start folder but with no button to search for that folder!!!! How are we supposed to enter the folder name??? By leaving the app and going to a file app, get the link, copy and come back to your stupid app and paste it?? pff.

After connection lost it's not restarting and I need to reboot my phone remotely through shell.
