Got a digital or physical security problem? Find the solution.

Umbrella provides all the advice needed to operate safely in a hostile environment. With step-by-step advice and checklists for every situation from sending a secure email to attending a protest or dealing with a kidnapping - Umbrella provides you with a one-stop-shop for all the latest tools and information on how to operate securely as and when you need it.

Lessons help you learn about a topic, checklists help you implement best practice mitigation procedures. Keep track of your progress in the dashboard. Stay up-to-date with the latest threats in your local area through feeds - which provide security information from the UN, ReliefWeb, Centres for Disease Control and many other places.

Your data is encrypted on the device, we don't have access to it. You can add extra security with a password. If your in an emergency, Umbrella integrates with The Guardian Project "Ripple App" (needs to be downloaded separately) - so with one swipe you can hide it.

Umbrella has been created with the help and input of the NGO, human rights, humanitarian aid and open source technology communities.

Good idea and well recommended but doa on my galaxy s7 - just a red screen with an umbrella even with uninstall and reinstall. Willing to try a new release when it comes out.

This app makes way too many assumptions to be useful. Maybe it helps somebody but following some advice here without explicitly knowing those assumptions will get people hurt. Security still isn't easy.

Security made easy?? Surely that is a joke! If you have an hour or so to spare every time you want to sort out your security and you don't have a life.. This heap of crap is for you

Not sure about the couple negative reviews, but I will say that some of the applications they are advocating the NSA have admitted are a 'problem' for them in regards to the usage of them. ie; truecrypt(v 7.1a) But also in my opinion, and as the developers have stated, this was developed towards a specific group/work in mind and should be used as a guide to work from. Not a Manuel for complete security practices.

So far so good!

An app with these intentions and excellent implementation is a welcome sight in today's world where our data's security is sold to the highest bidder or taken from dark organisations. I'm delighted to see it and hope it stays honest and true to it's goal over time.

THE go-to app for both professionals and beginners travelling into areas of instability/insecurity. The checklist at the end of each section consolidates the beginner's new knowledge and reaffirms the pro's procedures, as complacency has no place in the security environment. Constantly fed with industry best practice and real-time vital information for those in-situ.
