Self Evident is a free app that records, validates and secures evidence. While the Android version has been designed primarily as a crime reporting app, it also lets you file a report for work, notify an adviser or business of a claim, send the media a news story or just secure the evidence in your private account.
Enhancements brought to you by the Mayor of London improve accessibility for users and offer improved support for victims of hate crime.

Evidence recorded with the app is more reliable because (a) it is recorded in real time and when the events are fresh in your mind, (b) a data log validating the time, place and file information is stored and corroborated independently, and (c) a copy is kept safe in your private account.

As well as validating evidence, Self Evident guides users through videoing a witness statement, and locates and dates the incident in a secure and convenient report. App appears to be junk. I registered and attempted to 'import video' from the movie folder of my phone. The screen flashed black and the app returned to the front page. I looked at the help - no clues. I looked online - it said to contact support by pressing the 'support' button on the app. There is no such button. Not working, help page support doesn't help.

I highly recomend to all who really don't want to wait for there report into the police station well as I used this app personaly & I love it I got very quick responce from officer sort out my trouble nd did his outstanding job....!!

So after writing a statement the app keeps closing and you have to start over. Frustrating. Giving up and uninstalling, il just call the police instead.

A great little app, very handy if you are having any problems or are involved in an accident. The ability to record videos is not present in the app, but you can just link to a video on the device instead. Also the facility to write down events there and then will make any evidence far more credible and accurate. I think every recording device should come with an app like this.

You type out the details of a report and you can see it on the net by logging in but can't get the file to come through the app. This is supposed to make it easier but it is not!

Stops recording the audio the screen goes off. I tried to record abuse I get from my brother and thought I'd finally got something on him when he basically admitted lying about claiming self defence when he attacked me awhile ago. But because the screen had gone off it didn't record anything, what good is that?! He's not going to say anything if there's a big speaker thing with lines going up and down going.. So now I look stupid. Thanks a ton.. Plus it doesn't do video...

After seeing many incidents on the short walk to my Son's school, I thought this app would be very useful..... not quite so useful if you can't submit the report! Tapped "send" after reviewing and the little circle span... and span and span and span for at least 10 minutes without sending the report! What use is an app that doesn't do as it should?!?! How can the developers justify the charges to use the app when it's intended use is as a crime reporting tool? Honourable as it may be, no-one is going to pay

I have updated my phone when I input the data again I am told you details are already registered. How can I retrieve my details without registering as another user? Please advise.

There may be good intentions with this app, however it's not yet ready and fit for public use. I alerted them that the app had no login details for return customers, a basic necessity one would have thought, especially when they promote helping repeat victims, but some time has passed and still not updated. Premature would be the right word to describe the app.

EDIT: upgraded, excellent support to fix the problem, thank-you. Just downloaded the app and it won't complete the registration, keeps coming back with an error code - but I have received a text with an authorisation code that I can't use - very confused.

This app is well explained and simple to use. I've relied on it to a query a parking charge, and have validated photos stored for an insurance claim. I can see it would be really valuable if I were to experience or witness a crime.

Easy to use, clear and straight forward. I found it very simple to use. Worked on my phone /HTC M8/ immediately, with no problems. Great piece of work .

Got a new phone and i am unable to register this app as it is registered with the old phone. Really frustrating.

Good idea but why is it using 8%of my battery, pretty poor design for what should be a benign app except when actually used. If this isn't fixed then I can't imagine anyone would keep it on their phone making it rather pointless.
