About PocketAudio Microphone

PocketAudio lets you use your Android device as a wireless soundcard of your computer. PocketAudio automatically forwards audio captured or played on your computer to your Android device. You can use PocketAudio as a wireless headphones or wireless microphone for your computer.

PocketAudio (Microphone) can be used as an audio input device to Windows or Mac. Speak to your Android device, and use Windows or Mac to capture or record the audio.

*** Please note that there is network delay between the computer and Android device. Therefore, PocketAudio should not be used in situations where delay can be an issue. For example, if you are watching a movie and use PocketAudio to play the soundtrack, you will notice the sound is played behind the video.

*** Please download FREE PocketControl server on your computer from: http://www.senstic.com/android/pocketaudio/pocketaudio.aspx

Instructions

1. If you have not already done so, download and install the PocketControl for Windows or Mac software from our website.
2. On Windows, run PocketControl for Windows and make sure the SensticPocketService is running on your computer. On Mac, run PocketControl from the Mac applications folder.
Connect your Android device to your home network using Wi-Fi.
3. Start PocketAudio on Android, and the app will automatically connect to your computer. The bottom of your Android device screen should display "Connected to your_computer_name:port."
4. Configure your Windows/Mac program to use PocketAudio as your audio input and/or output device.

Step by step instructions can be found at support page.

Limitations

1. Currently, PocketAudio supports Windows XP/Vista/7/8, Mac OS X 10.7 or above. Mac OS X 10.6 or earlier is not supported.
2. PocketAudio does not work with iChat on Mac.
3. There is network delay between the computer and Android device. Please do not expect real time transmission.

It's sad that you have to pay for trash like this. Didn't work even though it said it was connected and even though it was said it was receiving audio when it clearly wasn't. Pathetic.

Works a treat, using it to talk into a computer based tannoy over the Internet, but!!! The app needs a push to talk button as the mic is activated the min you start the app, would be nice to see the function to touch the mic image when you want to speak, it's fiddly at the min having to go into the settings to mute and unmute the mic

I want to be able to speak to it even with the screen off. It doesn't work. It far too sensitive to actually pick up any commands, when the screen turns off, it stops working. Additionally, if I want to use the Pocket Audio Speakers AND the Microphone at the same time, they don't work together because they use the same port to connect. You need to allow custom ports, for which I don't see an option for in here....One star for now, five if you fix these problems.

I really wanted this to work, abd while it did on my laptop, it won't on my Mac mini. It just plays my Mic audio over my speakers causing a feedback loop, it appears to work when both output and input are set to pocketaudio microphone, but then I have no audio output on my computer.

My computer is hooked to my wide screen television a few feet from my recliner. I'm a cheap gamer, so I wanted something that could act as a wireless mic to my computer for gaming. All in all it was easy to use and worked great. The server side was running without configuration, and I simply typed my IP address and away I went. There are only two down sides. One, the delay is about a second between the time you say something and the time the computer registers it. Second, no exit button on the app.

I tried 4 different free apps and this is the only one that did what I wanted. It was very easy to set up. Now i can speak onto phone and the aidio comes out on the pc speakers. Just remember on your computer to go to your microphone properties and click the box for listen to this device.

It cannot run in the background, nor can you dim your screen while it is in use. Notable delay - though it's over wifi. Startup crashes were fixed by the latest update, though I'm not using ICS.

This app is great. The delay is only expected, as it is wireless, but I have one issue. Past the first startup (post installation) I am unable to edit my in-app network settings (his the cursive i button). The app crashes whenever I try. This is especially problematic because I use a dynamic IP address.

Following some advice from a friend that had the same startup problems, the app is running fine - It may be necessary to either reset the wi-fi connection on your phone, the computer, or your router, or even all three to get the phone and client speaking to each other, but once that's done the app works fine. An input volume function would get it 5 stars, but it's fine as it is with no distortion problems, good clarity. Once set as the Windows default device it functions perfectly in Gtalk and Skype.

Sound quality high Can't change quality (bug) no mute button on screen 2-4 second latency (that's why bummer that can't change quality ) Strong feedback compared to wo mic Menu button isn't used, i icon instead, confusing
