A decent gps for trails. Takes a bit to get used to, but overall a nice offline map system. Maps are highly detailed and worth the yearly subscription fee. I would like to see a more user friendly offline tool. Sometimes it isn't exactly the area intended. Maybe allow an entire county to be loaded up instead of a blank search and save. Would be handy for search and rescue.
I hunt by myself a lot, so it was really nice knowing I could feel better about going further into the woods without getting completely turned around.
I have a galaxy 7, I really want to like this app, my friend has it and loves it. The maps just take too long to load on my phone.
I switched from a paid version of Backcountry Navigator, which has a real awkward interface. This is easier to use.
On some of the base maps, there is no way to tell which tiles are already saved. They go back to green even when saved....
Excellent app, worked very well for locating my destination points. I appreciate the fact they are actively developing and improving features to meet their customer needs. Downloads for offline use are a little slow but I’m sure as more people use this app they will improve the speed. I appreciate the level of detail that can be downloaded. The membership fee is reasonable, my other mapping software (strictly PC based) also has a yearly membership fee. It is nice to have the option whether or not to purchase the land ownership layer.
The topo map and GPS seem to work ok but downloading and using trail maps (the big selling feature) was slow. The trail layer disappears often as you pan around the map. I wouldn't trust this in the field.
Paid downloaded tiles for hike up South sister Oregon. Not there when off line. When I try and contact app indicates I am off line when not.
Signed up for account and can't log in. Deleted it right away and will use AllTrails Pro.
Downloaded this app and used it the next day on a 3 day hike. Tracked our location and was able to plan our route more accurately. Low battery usage. I recommend you watch the tutorial videos and practice saving maps before taking it out in the field
Slow to load maps even if saved area and on wifi but great concept
takes toon long to download, and wont download in the background.
Only american maps and very hard to understand how to use it..other apps are better...without european maps this app is nothing worth for me..im sorry!
I really like this app. Working good on my Moto X 2nd generation phone. Has great details in multiple map sets. Price is on the opening page, so I don't see how someone would rate this down for having to actually pay people for creating something so useful.
Best map app out there for hiking, offroading and snowmobiling. I download maps before I head out and put my phone in airplane mode. I can download multiple layers allowing me to view various trails, boundaries and even who owns the private land around the trails.
You have to download the app and start a free trial to find out how much they charge 9.99 a year for their membership and an other 19.99 per state.
I've enjoyed using this app while hiking with the dog. I had a fear of getting lost in the past but the app keeps me right where I want to go.
It works on my iphone but now I have a Samsung 7 edge and I don't get the property lines that I paid for. Do I get my money back? Edit 6/21/2016 I updated the app. It still does not work. I Uninstalled it and reinstalled the app and it still doesn't work
Don't have pro yet bit so far I am impressed.
This app is amazing for locating new trails in my area!!!
This app is really, really nicely made and easy to use. It's perfect for discovering new points of interest or a different trail to hike. I love being able to create custom maps and then save them for later use! All the features were a little overwhelming at first, but spend a few minutes playing around and you'll find you've got yourself one hell of an app!
I love this app!! I love hiking but often find it difficult to locate hiking trails that are different than my normal hiking areas. This app makes it easy to find new trails that I never knew existed!! The best part is that they are located around the area that I live. Thanks for the great product!!
I really dig this app. I also use OnX's Hunt app and the two in tandem fulfill all my outdoor exploring needs. This app makes my phone better than my Garmin. Download the app and get outside!
Your API is dead, I think. Can't even register. "Failed to validate response"
Every time i click the layers it will force close every single time, and if i scroll to fast threw the map itll do the same thing,i was pretty excited to use this app,im deffinetly not paying for the extras now
This is a great resource if you are looking to get out to new places and explore. The maps are accurate, detailed, and most importantly easy to understand.
I love the nationwide trails layer. Nice job.
Love the amount of data provided and the level of customization.
Preview shows landowner data but they don't tell you it costs an extra $20 per year ( and per state) to get that info until after you pay $10 for the subscription. I wish they were more honest about their pricing scheme!
I'm an avid outdoor enthusiast and love the map detail in this app! Being able to use these maps offline has made this product a go to on my backcountry journeys. Thanks guys!
Awesome app for any outdoorsy person easily find trails and plan trips
I buy maps. Hard copys. They are not membership based. I use GPS aps. Most are free and provide data as good as this, some you pay for the better quality topo maps. But they are not membership based. With this app, you get a one year free trial membership to the app, and you ALSO have to buy the maps. Wow. That is kinda like double taxation. Yeah...no. I will stick with the high quality free GPS apps and pay for quality map files one time.
This company did it again...I use their hunt app in the fall, and I'll use Roam in the spring for family adventures!
It's a waste of your time does not include private landmarks in wildlife management area landmarks to hunt on unless u wanna pay for it
I have used this app exploring all over near my home in Montana its an extremely valuable resource
Since upgrading to 6.0 Marshmellow, layers will not work anymore. It was working awesome before the update. Tech support is very slow at returning email's. I'm beginning to think they are ignoring my latest response to their email that didn't solve the problem.
This software has the best hiking trails! My girlfriend and I were up in GNP last weekend and used it to find some pretty awesome photo opportunities. 7 different moose! The ability to add more and more information is a huge plus. I particularly like the current fire perimeters, it saved my butt when hiking in an area I thought was clear... Nice work keep it coming!
After third trial I was able to install, and I really like this app. I was looking forward to it. For its first release it's not too bad, it's very usefull, a bit slow and has trouble locking into the gps satellite but I look forward to purchasing a few layers, and it's future more stable releases. Thanks
I can go out on an extensive hike, now, and not have to bring another device.
This is going to be fun! I know alot of people who can use this.
