Принимая участие в Венском Совете, император российский Александр Павлович изъявил желание проехаться по всей Европе и «чудес посмотреть». Приставленный к царю донской казачий атаман Платов, бывалый служака — таких ничем не удивишь. Видывали и позабористей!
Посещая заграничные кунсткамеры, среди всех представленных там чудес государю российскому приглянулась блоха, умеющая танцевать. Получивший вскоре по наследству царский престол, новый царь Николай Павлович не жалует иностранцев и не хочет им уступать. Поэтому блоха отправляется в Тулу, к тамошним умельцам.
Что может сделать с блохой обычный русский мужик Левша?...
