You don't know what HIIT is?
High-intensity interval training describes an exercise composed of HIIT techniques. HIIT workout sessions generally consist of a warm up period, then several repetitions of high intensity exercise separated by a medium intensity exercise for recovery, then a cool down period. The number of repetitions and length of each depends on the exercise, but may be as little as three repetitions with just 20 seconds of intense exercise. [wikipedia]

Tip: If you hear the counter through the external speakers even when the headphones are plugged in - you can always go to the preferences and un-check the "Use alarm volume".
Tip: If your background music is disrupted with every sound timer makes, you just have to disable "use alarm volume" in options.

Free AD supported version!

Interval Timer 4 HIIT Workout has free Caller ID. Caller ID will show call information during/after calls - even for contacts that are not in your phone book. Enable, disable or configure Caller ID at any time in the settings menu.

What are users saying about Interval Timer 4 HIIT Workout

I want an interval timer, not caller ID. This used to be an awesome app. If you want to have caller ID for people, it should be opt Ina and not turned on automatically.

R70%
by R####:

Backup & restore not working. I really loved the app. I've been using it for 2 years now. I installed it on the phone my sister gave me, entered the email I used for backup, and hit restore, but none od the timers I've created on my other phone came up.

J70%
by J####:

Use to be an awesome app untill its started hooking into the dialer up

R70%
by R####:

Awesome. Easy to use. Versatile. Best counter for hiit and tabata out there.

R70%
by R####:

I was looking for a 'gym boss' type application to set up to give me cues for the timed bodyweight exercises I am working on; this fits the bill well. Built-in workout protocols (some I've tried) as well, a nice and unexpected bonus. Audible/vibration/text-to-speech settings. I find the app excellent so far.

R70%
by R####:

I keep getting "payment method declined" message everytime i try to upgrade to the full version. I even spent 1 hour on the phone with google tech support to try and get my account fixed. They determined that the app is having an issue and all 3 payment methods I have setup for my google account are working fine. Ok, They fixed the issue, I have purchased the ad free version and love it.

D70%
by D####:

Latest update had some permission requests, one of which I declined and now I get a notice everytime I use the app. I'm okay giving you my location info., but can't share my contacts (even if it is just for caller ID purposes). Please correct or advise otherwise. Thanks!

X70%
by X####:

I dont feel confortable with the permissions requested. The app has turned a bit too intrusive. It's a big disappointment because I used to love it. It has one of the best interfaces for interval training. It is a shame that privacy and security become such hard red flags. Will use or purchase once those permissions requests are removed.

R70%
by R####:

Good app but preferred the old interface. Why does it need to access my contacts though?! Fortunately be android means you can refuse but you still get an annoying little box popping up all the time.

I70%
by I####:

Used to be my favourite app but now it wants to integrate with my phone calls and SMS messages. I don't need an interval timer on my phone calls. It's such a pain. Will be deleting if I can't go back to previous version.

Q70%
by Q####:

Used to love it, till the caller ID feature was introduced, asking for permissions. Why a timer app needs caller ID, I don't understand. Blocked the permissions, but always got notification to set the permissions. Got irksome. Deleted it.

M70%
by M####:

I set up a few cool workouts. Then I was tryingnout different layouts, I selected "old style", now the app is completely different, all my saved workouts are gone. And I cant seem to change it back to the original style... ??? Please help.

R70%
by R####:

What is the point of caller id? To be honest I loved this app back when it was no frills straight forward and easy...you have changed the ui to be Unnecessarily complicated. please change it back to its original look when you 1st created the app

B70%
by B####:

Also nice the way the need for permission is explained. Why would this timer app need to access my phone call list. SCAM!!

S70%
by S####:

I am the Senior Swing Lean kettlebell coach, SMK and SFG certified. This is by far the best timer I have used and have had many inquiries as to it's origins following my videos. It can be tricky to used to setting up but worth the effort.

B70%
by B####:

I have been using this app for years but the recent updates have made it unstable. It crashes a few times per week and I also get the Droid taskbar warning that this app is consuming a lot of battery. I have screenshots if the developers wish to see them.

X70%
by X####:

very basic, easy to use and customizable. I use it back to back for three different metabolic TRX apps. I love that the app vocalizes what move to do next and gives a warning when each set is nearing an end. It keeps my workouts efficiently on track... no wasted time looking at my phone or a log book to see what to do next or to record details. I also love that I can listen to music at the same time as not all apps of this nature allow it. Developer quick to answer questions.

R70%
by R####:

You don't need access to my contacts or location, and you don't need to use my phone to make calls. And if this program badgers me about about permissions when I next open it, I'm finding another timer.

V70%
by V####:

Love the app but for some reason keeps crashing, especially annoying in the middle of an interval workout. Love it, but will love it more when it stops crashing.

R70%
by R####:

I've found a complex workout in the examples but can't see a way to add one. What I mean is a group with 30 sec of exercise a followed by 40 exercise b etc. Know it can do it but can't see how. Permissions are also way overboard, it doesn't need to know my location.

R70%
by R####:

Sure, it has full screen ads that you have to dismiss every time your timer finishes and a useless congratulatory dialogue box you also have to dismiss - all part of the free version, so that's fair. However, the thing that brings this down to one star for me is the fact that it asks for lots of permissions to things like your contacts and camera, and if you deny those permissions, it'll nag you every. single. time. you return to the app's home screen - even if the nag dialogue is already up.

N70%
by N####:

This app used to be my go to for every training session. The latest update is good but i dont need a timer for my calls and msgs so im looking for another app, the original verison of this was way better

I70%
by I####:

I would like if there were an option to add a chime at a specific time in the middle of a round. This would make life so much easier as I use the app for stretching and alternate between sides midway through the round.

N70%
by N####:

Too many permissions needed... why is there a phone included?

P70%
by P####:

App is flexible and avoids annoying issues that other apps have with interval timing.

R70%
by R####:

It crashes alwase

S70%
by S####:

I like it because it is easy to set up a timer. I can also have a variety of timers set up for a whole week.

R70%
by R####:

Excellent for hiit workouts! Liked the old version better, though!

R70%
by R####:

Love that I can create a workout interval and even share with other Android users.

R70%
by R####:

Just remove the stupid invasive caller ID, no one asked for it or likes it! Listen to your users!!! Also due to the caller ID my phone keeps freezing when I make or receive calls. This is bordering on malware. I know you can disable it but that's not the point, it shouldn't be there!

R70%
by R####:

Easy to use. Great for a variety of workout scenarios. I downloaded different beeps and other queue sounds to use. Update: The app now plays full pop-up (loud) ads during my training sessions with my clients. Seriously embarrassing. Is there a version of this app with no ads whatsoever?

M70%
by M####:

Fine for timing workouts. But it's expanded to access my contacts, location, phone calls etc. Weird, kind of scary, and totally useless.

R70%
by R####:

Not appropriate HIIT, you got no business in my phone outside of a workout, and you get deleted due to security concern.

R70%
by R####:

I had a small request. Please provide a volume booster with this pack. When I play music with the workout I hardly hear the tick.

R70%
by R####:

Needs more customization of workouts, but good bare bones.

P70%
by P####:

Give us back the old timer! It was so easy to use!

A70%
by A####:

Loved the timer itself, does everything I need it to. Can't for the life of me figure out why they think they need a caller ID app in there. Incredibly frustrating pop up for all calls, incoming and outgoing, and it serves no purpose for me. Whenever I turn it off some new feature gets added and it's turned back on. Stick to fitness!

R70%
by R####:

Use to be good now it is just creepy. My phone already has caller ID and messaging. I don't need or want a stopwatch accessing these features. Before you tell me I can disable them I will just say I choose to disable by uninstalling.

Y70%
by Y####:

What's with the SUPER ANNOYING caller ID that pops up now?? Might have to find a better app

R70%
by R####:

The app maliciously started operating a Caller ID service with out my approval even though I did not grant it access to contacts and phone calls!!
