Office HD: TextMaker BASIC

a revelation. a word processor that actually has all the features i need. Why do so many android word processors lack the ability to do simple things like format tables? This one can do it, and it does it well. The interface is simple but powerful. I can't imagine using it on my phone, but on my pixel c, it works wonders. highly recommended.

Excellent word processor in a very poorly functioning package. While the actual editing is pretty good, Google drive and Dropbox connection works rarely if at all, and any attempt to register the app crashes it instantly. Customer support is also unresponsive. I wish I could recommend this because of how close it is to actual desktop word processor. But it's a broken mess.

I've been using some type of Android device for about 5 or 6 years now and, I write a lot of reviews. But, rarely (and I do mean rarely) do I type the phrase "I'm impressed," but this is one of those rare apps where I am truly impressed. I have licenses for almost all popular word processors (and some not so popular), and have used the same (expensive) one for a number of years. I just deal with its problems and lack of features. I quit looking because I spent enough money and time trying to do what I thought I should be able to do, but couldn't, until now (even simple things, like setting my own tabs). I happened across this one and, I'm not done testing yet, but it looks like I'll be switching! I did read a number of reviews about spyware (I've found none) and lack of certain features, like Word Count (it does exist). The only problem I've found so far is that inserted graphics disappear occasionally, but that's minor compared to what I've been dealing with. Right now, I wholeheartedly, and without reservation, recommend TextMaker. BTW, I'll be buying the Windows version, too!

Nice little word processor. However, I couldn't find word count, which I consider basic. No word count feature, no buy. Have to uninstall. Shame.

No words!!! That's AMAZING!!! Exactly like pc Microsoft Word or LibreOffice! But this is for Android! And it's FREE!!! Thanks, guys!

Very Good Office app for composing documents.

An excellent fast and accurate, very clean word processor, but sending too much hidden stuff home... Funny thing is, spy monitor showed location with some GUID next to NASA research center, ... Lol UNINSTALLING

The best word processor for Android! Loving it. All the features of desktop word processor in a very small size app. Support for multiple formats like the desktop version. It can even save the document in html. No other Android word processor is comparable to this! Running so well even on my aged KitKat 4.4 phone.

You stated that your app is free for now, I am in danger of losing my written materials? Or do I need to down load your app that is not free. I would really like to know if everything is going to be o Kay. Please help me. Joe

I downloaded this app because it said full feature for free. I got into the app and was Extremely impressed!!! Then I went to print my project.......sure, I could print. For the low low (not free) price of $4.99. I am so bummed. Worked really hard on my project to be totally let down. I should have known it was too good to be true....majorly disappointed now and will uninstall immediately!!!

Why oh why doesn't it have PDF support, and the paid pro versions still have unneeded spyware permissions. If it had those fixed up it would be pretty good. I just uninstalled crap wps office, rubbish to use, features, NO spell checker and bloated size (for 1MB worth of functionality), which then loads a copy of every document I read with it into system memory eating it away constantly and bumming out the system. This actually does what I want instead. But, get rid of all tracking on the paid version.

Wonderful people supporting this app in a very timely manner. Did what I wanted to on my 6 inch phone. (recommended by devs for tabs ONLY).

This app is perfect for Android Remix OSComputers and Tablets, it runs like a computer program! :-)

Really happy day coming from windows editing on mobile is so much easier with an interface similar LOVE LOVE LOVE IT. THANK YOU

Well I paid 5.99 for Text Maker Basic on 2016/09/12. I'm looking at the receipt I have from the play store. So, I paid for it. I could write, transfer files and print. Now I can't. So you took my money the cancelled my purchase. Just restore my purchase and we'll be fine. Or, I can report you to the Play Store and get my money back.

Not supporting Arabic characters ...garbage ...rubbish.... Do not installl.

The app was simple to use but you have pay for functions and features. I guess I will wait for different version.

I think they might lemove the saved purchases so that everyone can be aware of this application

this app is elegant

I'm startled by how capable this is. Even without a macro language, keyboard remapping and styles enabled me to recreate customizations I've added to my PC word processor with AutoHotKey - so I can use the same keystrokes on both platforms, no learning curve. Now I'll be leaving my notebook at home more often, writing on my phone using this with a Bluetooth keyboard.

Can't save a document. I replied to your email with the information of my tablet. I installed it in a Windows XP computer and will do it in a Windows 10 one. I will be playing with it in the Windows computers meanwhile.

No way to work with such tiny font. Uninstalling.

People use it for novels, such as myself would find it useful.. Consider adding it

Hard press on word to select before copy brings up a file menu.

I had initially written this off when it first came out for Android but am I glad to have given it another look. This is as impressive on Android now as the old CE .NET version on my old Psion Netbook was. Great work guys!

Thx, excellent to receive reply. - edit: When exporting to epub, images aren't getting placed right, and show no image. Is there a specific size limit, for jpg or png. Is there a tag, ref, frame or other formatting I'm missing for export, from htm or rtf. Converting from exported pdf to epub works ok with ePUBator but it messes up the Contents/Chapter formatting. Thinking upgrading to full if necessary. Keeps not keeping dictionary downloads for spelling.

After trying four other apps I finally found one that will allow me to edit and save rtf files. I am a happy camper!

Thx, excellent to receive reply. - Wonder would it ever be possible to edit or open epub with textmaker, would be perfect to fix all the various errors in my epubs, to correct them for better txt-to-speech reading.

With the in-app purchase, this is the same as the separately listed Full version. Easily the most feature-rich word processor on mobile, nearly identical to the one in the excellent SoftMaker desktop suite. The UI almost demands a hard keyboard for serious writing, but I expect many will use the app more for review and revision, with no fear of losing formatting applied on the desktop.
