Ditto my review below, but please note, this app has not been updated since 2012, and needs it...Okie quickly, tried all and every suite avail. Textmaker even opens and saves in odf. The 'ace-ness' doesn't stop...and at no cost.I use on my desktop, there's a real Linux version (not WINEwarea athough the Winduh version runs perfectly under WINE for all BSD desktops, et al). Bring on the : )s.

Tried Microsoft Word and OneDrive, what a mess nothing works right. This app is not only beautiful but has everything most would want and it just works for free. With being able to share out to dropbox is an added plus. I would like to see the word of what the icons are under the icons on the tool bars but being on a phone I do understand why it don't.

There are some great features in this app. However, it's not finished. Could not get the copy function to work within a document. As a result, changes to things like font could only be done one word at a time. Tried the help feature on a different matter and the option it told me to change wasn't available in the menu referenced in help.

Android6.User for one year+. Positive. It is possible to write documents in different formats;and it works offline!! Negative. # I can not copy from clipboard or other documents. # All of a sudden, one day all my saved documents were gone, just like that. Sum. Even if this is not perfect; I've not been able to find a better one available out there. Make sure to keep backup of anything important.

I like many others love the app but have two questions. Can I remove access to online storage. And although I was able to create or export to pdf format when trying to open the same format it is unable to read or have a save in pdf option. As no one else seems to mention this problem could you please tell me how to fix this or if it is / isn't supported. I use it on a Samsung Android iPhone Thankfully Robert

Helped me create and modify my resume using my Android tablet, which is the only computer I have access to right now (I am homeless and looking for work). There were no funky format changes that often happens when you round trip MS Office docs. Keep up the good work! I plan to purchase this suite of apps once I am employed!

You did what Word couldn't do. Save my document in a format that I could use on my laptop. I have a disk (which use to come with your new laptop folks) for Word Office Suite 2002. I love this old Word software and it was free back in the day. I load it on every new computer and this little gem saved in a format (doc) I needed. I email it, and opened it right up on my laptop. Could not do that with Word for android. Only saved in (docx), which 2002 could not read. All I got was gibberish. Same with PDF. So far I'm sold.

One of the best REAL FREE Texteditor s able to read, write and convert anything! Just confused why my security warns that it accesses or needs access to my messages...

U70%
by U####:

It may be "full featured" but way too clunky and too complicated. Comments don't show very well (on my phone anyway) - tapping on highlighted text brings up oddly sized, truncated comment bubble. Unnecessary prompt to save documents when you only view them (and before u even open them!) drives me crazy. As does the default renaming of documents with names to "untitled X"...

by K####:

I'm a recent convert to the desktop version of TextMaker (and initially its free alternative though I upgraded to the full version very quickly). Fast, light footprint and reliable as can be about autosave and file recovery. FREE Office TextMaker for Android (I'm on 7.0) couldn't be more opposite. Doesn't just crash with over 1.25GB of RAM but locks up the phone entirely requiring hard reset. Then while it will recover these crashed files, switching apps right away (say, because you get a call and another app pops up) can lose this recovery and then there doesn't seem to be any way to manually recheck for recovered files. The tablet version doesn't seem to have the stability issue and is pretty functional. But for apps formatted to a smaller screen on Android, the Microsoft Word and OneNote apps are free and much, much better.

LOVE the App! The ONLY one I have found that does what I need to do for Free. ONLY drawback I found was that there is no option for it bring my "default" Office App. ????????????????????

Top App!!! I just wanted a simple, clean, no ads office app to make docs. This is it. Takes a bit of getting use to the tool bar being at the bottom but small inconvenience for a great app.

Truly the BEST app for working on any documents! Clean interface. No ads even on free version! Functionality beyond compare! None of the others even come close. DOWNLOAD IT NOW!

Tiny, yet powerful app. unfortunately lags badly with texts exceeding 500 words.

U70%

This is a nice little word processor, but it hasn't been updated in almost two years. Due to security upgrades on various cloud services it can no longer access Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.

U70%
by U####:

It was working fine until recently, now I'm getting error messages and can't open any of my Dropbox files - it flashes up as "error 400 - v1 retired."

U70%
by U####:

Looks great. Fast. But can't assess Google Drive. When I click to open, I get 403 error. Disallow useragent????

U70%
by U####:

Impressive yet tiny text editor. Its a bit much to handle on a phone, but with a Bluetooth keyboard its very capable. On a tablet it'd be an essential app. No ads as far as i could tell! Updating my review: It supports copy and paste really well!! No reason to use any other word processor. :)

There is bug, when change font size with bold font , for exampe : if you use font with size 11 to write document, and then you jump into next line (by press enter) after you jump then you change your font size with 12 it cause when type text become like when you press enter..... please fix it. thx. NOTE : you must try it using bold style, the bug will appear when you use this style, otherwise the bug will not appear.

Would love to use this, as I use the desktop version. What kills it for me is the lack of support for password-protected Word files.

Can't even open password protected files that have been created in Textmaker. Just throws an error message.

Lightest yet most powerful word processor for Android. Incredibly feature rich, multiple format support, more than any other Android word processor. I was able to use Fonts stored on my SD card without having to move the fonts into the internal storage.

U70%

FABULOUS. I finally have found this extremely good word/text editor, absolutely powerful and very simple to use. Features are all amazing, including the cloud storage. Low size app, with outstanding features. Big Thanks! Keep up the good work guys

Autosave doesn't work. Who knows how much work I've lost while relying on the app to save it when it goes out of focus. I can't trust an app that doesn't save my work if I get a phone call or am otherwise interrupted.

U70%
by U####:

This is a great app, allowing you to save text in multiple formats. You can simply use it as a text editor or creator and for the more adventurous insert pictures, italic and bold texts and characters for different languages. It's a keeper for me.

I tried this with a fairly complicated MS Word file and it opened it but lost all images and some formatting. Mobi was better, but not perfect.

I really dislike keeping my writings in the cloud, so I keep them on a SD card, and I use it on multiple devices. I don't need a full office suite, so I thought this would fit my needs, but no such luck.

Text Maker Mobile supports several kinds of .doc files, .docx files, .rtf. files, plain .txt and others. Others. It faithfully extracts the text from .doc and .docx files into proper text files that will pass into plain text editor like Jota+ and Jota text editor. While it will do .htm (HTML) files these are better done by WebMaster.
