About FMV
Once upon a time, prices of fresh food were broadcast on radio every day. Not sure they are still doing this.
Now, Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department put a daily Wholesale prices of major fresh food (average reference figures) on internet for us to read.
Do the prices synchronize with real life ? Will they affect your purchase for daily cooking ? Let's observe and judge.
This app presents them in a more human-readable and useful format.
Features:
- Foods are shown in categories for convenient browsing.
- Under each category, foods are listed in ascending order of price. That means, the cheapest food appears on top.
- Price trend graph shows price fluctuation. Since past data are not available from the web site, it will take several days to accumulate enough data to draw a distinct line.
- Share price data with family and friends.
By the way, FMV stands for Fish, Meat and Vegetable. Together with eggs, they are major fresh food in Hong Kong.
