أهميَّةُ هذا الكتاب تأتي بالدَّرجةِ الأُولىٰ من جهةِ مُؤلِّفِهِ. فكما يُشيرُ عنوانُ الكتاب الفَرْعي (كيف غَيَّرَ أشهر مُلْحد رأيه؟)، فإنَّ المؤلِّف (أنْتوني فلو) كان واحداً من أكبرِ الملاحدة في العصْـرِ الحالي. وبالتالي فإنَّ تجربةَ (فلو) التي استمرَّت أكثر من خمسين سنة في الإلحاد، وكتابتَهُ العديدَ من الكُتُبِ التي تُؤيِّدُ الموقف الإلحادي، وخوضَهُ العديد من المناظرات التي تُدافع عن الإلحاد، ثمَّ تحوُّلَهُ بعد كلِّ هذه السِّنين إلىٰ الإيمانِ بالله، لا بدَّ أنَّه يُضيفُ مصداقيةً كبيرةً لما سيقولُهُ في هذا الكتاب.
