About Good Energy

Good Energy uses 100% renewable electricity from British sunshine, wind and rain.

We supply you through the national grid, which is like a dirty pond of electricity. When you’re a Good Energy customer, we match all the electricity you use over a year with electricity sourced purely from renewables. It’s like pouring fresh water into that pond. Slowly but surely we’ll clean things up.

Use the Good Energy app to submit your electricity, gas or Feed-in Tariff meter readings to help us make sure your bill is as close to the amount of energy you actually use as possible.

Your details will be saved within the app so all you have to do is enter your meter reading and we’ll do the rest.

Good Energy customers can use the app to:

· Submit meter readings quickly using a handy torch function if your meter is in a dark place

· Recommend a friend and get £25 off your next bill

· Contact us or request a call back if you have any questions

We always want to hear your feedback on how we can improve the app to make it as easy for you to use as possible. Let us know what you think by emailing customerservices@goodenergy.co.uk.

Linking meters to accounts still uses the old style account numbers starting with GE and ending with G for gas or E for electricity. Once that was sorted I could enter and submit readings, which worked smoothly. The torch switch doesn't work at all on my device. Not a problem as I can turn it on from settings, but it would be nice if it worked as advertised. It's also hard to tell the on position from the off position on the torch switch. One state is orange and the other is a slightly darker orange. Moot anyway as it doesn't work. And the final annoyance is that you can't exit the app using the back button. The energy is good but the app leaves a little to be desired.

K70%
by K####:

Seemed to work, but good energy said they hadn't received my reading and the reading never appeared on my account online. So either the app didn't work or the reading got lost somewhere else in the system. Either way, useless, so I will have to continue trying to submit readings online (which also doesn't always work).

C70%
by C####:

Two problems: there seems to be no way to exit the current version. The previous one exited just fine but this one you have to force stop. Also, it shows only one previous reading. Much more use if it showed the last 6. A very amateurish effort.

I70%
by I####:

This app is not up todate account numbers and meters are not recognised. Contact Good energy done it waiting for a reply so when will the app be updated? You sent the numbers so you can recognise them. Do not say they are not on your system !

C70%
by C####:

Reading submitted do not make it onto your account even though you get a massage saying submitted. The new website is much better, easier quicker and reliable. Will stick with that

Y70%
by Y####:

Don't bother with this app it just doesn't work. Been like this for about a year now so don't expect any fix soon.

E70%
by E####:

Once set up the app works pretty well. It is basic, but functional. The torch button doesn't work on a Samsung galaxy S8+ though

C70%
by C####:

The app asks for your meter number. When I entered it said it was not the one registered to my account. If it knows the one registered to my account why is it asking for it? Then spent over 20 minutes on hold to give a meter reading over the phone. Decided to change energy supplier as a result.

F70%
by F####:

Start by having to register with all the same details you supplied GE many years ago. No idea what they were. Why can't we just email a photo of the meter, how simple would that be for customers?

C70%
by C####:

I have 2 simple meter - gas and electricity. I use Good Energy because they are a proper 100% green company with good ethics. The app is a doddle to use, and is so much easier than submitting readings on-line.

C70%
by C####:

When i first installed it, I couldnt enter my personal details. Having phoned GE it then did work but when I entered the meter serial number it told me that wasn't the one on record. GE seems to want meter and account numbers every time which means hunting through paperwork to find long meaningless numbers every time you enter a reading. Really annoying and time wasting.

C70%
by C####:

Doesn't recognise serial numbers

C70%
by C####:

Clunky with v limited functions

C70%
by C####:

Fine, apart from not able to close the app on android tablet.

I70%
by I####:

App looks lovely but like others it seems that it won't recognise the serial number of the meter. The number matches the bill etc. Etc. Needs major improvements and this is the second time I have tried it.

W70%
by W####:

Just doesn't work. Says I have entered incorrect information. Call to GE gets nowhere. This has been a problem for months. If they can't make a simple app like this work what chance have they got of getting my bill right? Will certainly be leaving GE based on this experience.

C70%
by C####:

Forgot my details after the app upgraded! Had to enter my account number and both meter serial numbers again, poor! Just link the details to my email address / login details, surely!

C70%
by C####:

Good Energy have said to change start of account numbers = no longer "GE". but the app has GE ! & cannot be changed by customer. I called them 16 Jan 2017 about it = they have still NOT updated the app :(

C70%
by C####:

This app doesn't recognise the account and meter serial number. Needs updating

C70%

Loved the way the torch function is included in the app - very much needed under my stairs!

C70%

Fresh install today and it won't accept my meter number

A70%
by A####:

Tells me account number (given in the email linking me to the app) and meter serial number (from old bill) don't match. Why can't it just be as simple as over the phone. No provider has ever asked my meter serial number. Only other place to get info is on my current bill... but that's only online and I can't remember the password so I'm locked out. Giving a reading has never been such a headache. Love Good Energy. Not changing. Just feeding back my experience.

I just have gas and electricity (with day and night) supply, so very simple, and this app is great. Saves time and eases the process considerably for me. Thank you for taking the time to develop this.

B70%
by B####:

Far too difficult and time consuming to setup. The app cannot cope with absence of spaces in electric meter serial numbers and leading zeros in gas serial numbers. Even the customer support person had to ask her supervisor about how to pair my account and meter.

X70%
by X####:

The app will only let you enter 1 pv install. I have 4 and therfore have to call or go online elsewhere to submit readings.

R70%
by R####:

Works fine for single gas and single electric meter. Easy to set up, then remembers your meter and account numbers for next time. Even has a button to turn camera torch on so you can see in your meter cupboard.

R70%
by R####:

The app won't accept serial numbers even though they are matched. It's useless until I can input them.

R70%
by R####:

When it pulls together this is great. But I have to always put in my account number and serial number. It needs a login functionality to remember all this.

E70%
by E####:

It would be nice if it showed all previous Meter readings, rather than just the most recent one.

R70%
by R####:

The easiest way to give my FiT readings each quarter. I really like the torch feature :-)

So easy.

O70%

The title and other people have said it all

R70%
by R####:

What's the point if it doesn't work?

X70%
by X####:

It can't cope with feed in meters if you have two. I hope it is sorted soon as the app will save running backwards and forwards between the meter cupboard and the desktop computer.

Works well apart from not being able to add mutiple roof top solar projects. If anyone is looking to invest in further solar rooftops please Google willow rivers wealth. Now is the last time to invest in solar before the conservative government kill off the uk solar industry in January . We can cater for all budgets and requirements up to 50 kw.

X70%
by X####:

First time using it, found it simple to use and love the idea of the torch.

X70%
by X####:

Smooth and quick, limited in functionality at the moment. Look forward to further development on it.

T70%
by T####:

The app seems to work fine and is very easy to use but I can't find any way to enter details and readings from a second installation. Am I missing something?

L70%
by L####:

Nice simple app but could do with a meter read submit conformation email like you get when using the normal online process...
