About Cosy

Come home to Cosy with the help of our super smart heating controller. Cosy is a portable, wireless thermostat that simplifies heating control using an app. Thanks to the Cosy App, you and your family can control your heating and hot water from anywhere - using your smartphone, tablet or PC.

Please note: you’ll need to update to the newest version of this app to unlock some of our latest (and greatest!) future features – like temperature graphs – more info below.

Customised heat settings
----------------------------------

Take your pick of our four heating modes, then sit back, relax and let Cosy do the rest. Choose from:
• Slumber - the temperature you'd like your home to be when you're asleep or away from home.
• Comfy - the temperature you'd like it to be when you're at home
• Cosy - the warmest temperature setting for when you need a good ol’ heat boost.
• Hibernate - keeps your heating off but protects your pipes against frost. Hey presto - no burst pipes!

Extra Cosy features: hot water and twin zone
------------------------------------------------------------

Cosy can control your hot water as well as multiple heating zones. All heating events - home and water - can be controlled, scheduled and boosted from the app or the Cosy Display. Easy peasy!

Psst! You’ll need to have your Cosy wired up for twin zone heating and hot water. Get in touch with our support team for more help.

Temperature graphs
---------------------------

You’ll soon be able to see your heating data in even more detail. View your home temperature readings and mode change info for the past 30 days. Coming soon to a Cosy App near you…

Making comfort affordable
-----------------------------------

Stuck in a meeting (groan)? Invited out at the last minute (hooray)? If so, don't waste good heating time when you're not there. Use the app to turn your heating down to help you save on your energy bills.

Welcome Home to Cosy feature
-------------------------------------------

By connecting a Smart Plug to your Cosy you can schedule your lights, your radio, or even your slow cooker to come on when your heating does. Don't just come home to the warm, come home to Cosy.

Schedules to suit your lifestyle
----------------------------------------

Simple to set up, you can create up to seven unique heating profiles for Cosy. So if you regularly do something different every day of the week, Cosy will know exactly what to do.

Cosy for all fuels and family members
--------------------------------------------------

Now the whole family can download the Cosy App. When someone changes an event it appears in the Activity feed, so you can keep an eye on energy hogs (aka Grandma Jean). Cosy works with gas, oil, LPG and biomass.

The app says it's sent an email to activate my account on my new phone but it hasn't. YES I checked my junk/spam box. What's going on?

U70%
by U####:

Sort of ok, but I don't like the way that if you switch the heating to cosy for a period of time, it ignores any timer settings that should be active when that time is over. It means you can't really turn your heating on early if there is less than an hour until a scheduled event.

Q70%
by Q####:

Any chance of getting notifications on shade bar to highlight change's in programs. "Cosy now mode active" etc

S70%
by S####:

Works great... Can I suggest being able to put numbers in the "custom fields"... I'd like to be able to call a program "5:30am" so I know that one starts at 5:30... But it wont let me use numbers :-(

Works Great with my sony adroid phone. I love the fact that i control my house temperature from anywere!!! App is easy to use and support is great!! Works even better aftet update!

U70%

Very minimal interface but does the job. Would be great if widgets where available in a future version and setting custom duration times.

The app is ok but Cosy is as bad as it gets in terms of a smart thermostat. The temp readings are either completely wrong or I am unable to tell the difference between what is cold or hot anymore. I simply use it as a slightly more convenient timer. Will invest in nest soon.

by C####:

Have had cosy for 2 years. Added hot water switch 6 months ago. Had to re-pair and reset a few times, sometimes with the excellent and courteous help of customer support. It's a great system, but people, really! Give the company a chance. It's innovative so there will be issues, and their system is sometimes thwarted by other systems it has to work with. It's a learning curve for me too, but I wouldn't be without cosy now and unlike some of their competitors there is no expensive monthly charge to run it! Keep up the great support GEO !

T70%
by T####:

As for the over-temperature issue, I've found that when the thermostat is away from the hub it records (almost) correct temperatures. The cradle/hub itself generates heat when the thermostat is docked (take the thermostat off the hub after a charge and feel the connection point to see what I mean) so could this be the cause of inaccurate/too hot readings?

U70%
by U####:

The app works well. I am disappointed with the functionality of the smart plugs as you can't independently control several plugs for different devices at different times. Looks like I've wasted money buying three plugs, and shouldn't of listened to customer support.

I love this app. It's great. Had a few problems to start with. But now it's up and running. I wouldn't change it at all.

U70%
by U####:

Brilliant. . There's no other way to describe this gadget. It's easy to use at home or away. Saved me so much mony

U70%
by U####:

Thermostat constantly over reads by 4 degrees, as for being a smart thermostat it's not very smart. It's basically a timer with a few different temps

T70%
by T####:

Seems that heating starts at some set times not on any of my cosy app schedules. Not required in summer months. Not sure from where it is picking up its settings. I guess this is after the update. Not happy.

U70%
by U####:

Unable to connect to the app for over a week now. Looks like support have given up on me too....

U70%

Won't work on my android phone it keeps losing connection since last update

I have a problem with this for well over a week it will not connect to my hub

U70%

Each time I try to open the app it takes me to the login page with my address filled in and the password blank. When I try to put in my password it automatically signs me in.

U70%

Works perfectly.

Set cosy to hibernate as it's summer. Just arrived home from shopping with the central heating on full blast! Cosy was switched off, no notification why it switched itself off. I've now switched off my thermostat and central heating off manually until its cold enough and use will cosy in November.. No impressed!

U70%
by U####:

Tested by the installer and then when I selected status to check what was connected, the screen wouldn't change back to main menu. Now I am stuck with an app that is useless but at least it shows me I am connected, even if I am unable to change anything. What a joke app!!!

U70%
by U####:

Why can't you setup different start and finish times for each day of the week rather than Weekday or Weekend? Eg, different times on Saturday or Sunday. Apart from that I love it, saves me a fortune and turning the heating on before I get in is awesome.

U70%
by U####:

Had it installed, have removed it. The thermostat seems to make temperatures up, had a wireless control system before and that's always 3 degrees warmer than the cosy one. Just wastes gas on unnecessary heating. Also unless you have a highly unpredictable social life, it's a bit pointless. There was only 4 occasions in the 6 months I used it to cancel the heating.

U70%
by U####:

Why have an app that controls your heating if said app never, and I mean never, connects to the bloody hub. It tells me that the it has WiFi connection, but everything else is unknown. Pushing refresh has absolutely no effect, logging out and back in does nothing to change it either. I might as well have you take the whole useles thing away and go back to conventional heating. I currently would not recommend this to anyone.

T70%
by T####:

if i could give it minus stars I would. app never connects. it's rubbish. waste of time.

B70%
by B####:

The way it operates is a bit simple and clumsy giving issues. 1) It doesn't react quickly enough to the temp & keeps the heating on until it's about 0.5 degrees over - doesn't sound a lot but makes a difference especially when.. 2) It only sets the boiler at max or off. So when the boiler shuts off, the radiators are so hot the temp keeps rising, getting too hot. Then, if you set the temp lower to compensate, it gets too cold before it comes on.3) No option to adjust temp up/down manually, only to presets.

I have had this system installed for a year. It worked ok for 9 months then it started to be a problem following a thunderstorm which knocked the router out which required a new router. Since that time I have to reset the hub regularly every 10 days or so with the display showing a cloud error. The hub has been replaced after my complaint but the problem still persists.Last time I phoned First Utility Cosy help they told me that there was nothing more that they could do and they thought it may be a compatibility problem with the router and would I like them to send an engineer to remove the system and restore my heating to its original state. Not a good outcome as I want to be able to control my heating remotely. Would I recommend the Cosy system. NO because when it all goes wrong there is no real back up

Completely disconnected this morning. Reset it twice, no joy. I am connected to WiFi but everything else is 'unknown'. Just emailed customer services. Thx

Since update the dead zone is smaller but still not user configurable. They say it's -.3 and +.2 but it is -.4 and +.2. They have fixed bug that when you turn water off it resets heating to slumber, but have just reversed it so now if I turn heating to slumber it turns hot water off. The resent history list is still all but usless as only last 6 events shown would be nice if had at least a week. Change to look just bolder text. The temperature set dial I find more awkward than before. Temperature readings still seem off but can't really test as winter is over. The new graph is all gimmick and useless. Still need to get basics right. This company makes all the usual marketing noise but fails to listen to customers or deliver a well tested product. look at latest update a fancy new graph whoopie! but all we want is a thermostat we can configure to suit the house its installed in.

Had cosy system installed on Friday, heating was coming on middle of the night sat & sun, emailed support Sunday night no responses so far, i have to put system into hibernation overnight, not impressed, UPDATE system has now been fix and working as it should so now worth four stars.

Cosy hub needs resetting every now and then. It was a lot easier with conventional thermostat. Now I have to go upstairs and reset my cosy hub a few times until it starts working and then adjust temp via app. The whole point was to be able to be able to change temp setting on the go but what's the point if app keep asking to reset the hub. Pointless!!

Have you checked this app works for new installs since the update ? App last updated 11 march, what happened to the 4 of April release ? Can I ask when you think you last updated this app? The version in the app store is 11th of march. Can you please confirm that if you go to more details in the play store it reports the 4 of April last updated. Well it does not work, no option to add hub. Also what you are saying makes no sense, the play store version should be the 4 of April.

Where is this thing getting its time from? I don't think it's configured to point to an NTP, as it running an hour behind.

Works great, and really useful to be able to put the heating on right before I head home from work rather than heat the empty house for hours.

If I could just set the temp that I want manually then this would be perfect but I don't want the zones
