This programme, Positive Mental Training, originally a sports performance programme, has been developed and researched for use in the NHS by a GP, Alastair Dobbin, and a health psychologist, Sheila Ross, PhD. It is used by doctors for themselves and their patients to help them recover from stress, anxiety and depression.
This app combines mindful relaxation with positive psychology sports techniques to help you develop the necessary mind/body balance for recovery and wellbeing. It's the same skills we need to feel good and recover - whether we feel low, feel stressed or want to perform at our best.
Positive Mental Training is a 12 track programme, each 18 minutes long, which can be listened to as a course or dipped in and out of as you need. There is a progress button to track your journey. Also contains additional tracks on sleeping soundly, stopping smoking, losing weight, increasing concentration, and positive ageing.
