I explore most canals by bike. Going down some bits that most people would even dream of walking down. It would be ideal to find a decent map to use showing Miles. Places to eat and detailed map of tunnels that can not be passed by foot with alternative routes. I have been lucky so fare in being able to hitch a lift through some tunnels by some kind boaters.. this app could be so much better. But at this time it's pritty useless to most people

Q70%
by Q####:

The app fact sheet shows the Huddersfield Narrow Canal as being at Portland Basin. The HNC does not go further west than Dukinfield. Cart doesn't know where its own canals are.

X70%
by X####:

It is ok but will not check in past visits or delete a incorrect check in. Has some good info for a tourist.

X70%
by X####:

Useful app but the guides took forever to open on a decent connection and you can't zoom in to get a better view of the guide

X70%
by X####:

Downloaded this thinking the maps would show boat routes. What's the point in showing you how to get to these places by road????

Y70%
by Y####:

Smashing in site of the system

C70%
by C####:

Very easy to use

L70%
by L####:

Not a bad app but seems no one did the basics of checking for simple erros e.g. in maps diglis is not likely to be visited as its apparently 60miles outdoor in the north sea

X70%
by X####:

All places mentioned within the app are based in England, nowhere else. Waste of time.

X70%
by X####:

Very well made, easy to use and lots of information :)

As a boater it would have been great to include the facilities and locks on the map. As someone else has said, it just shows how CaRT are not interested in boaters despite our boat licence fees (most of us are tax payers too). Would the canals have the same attraction without boats?

C70%
by C####:

It's very quick but is missing a lot of useful info. If it was combined with the map on the CaRT website (and possibly the stoppage/disruption page) it would be quite good.

C70%
by C####:

No waterways maps...once again CaRT leave out the main users of the canal network, boaters

C70%
by C####:

Good but not complete. .should have more info included such as locks, bridges and lift bridges. Also links with rivers to navigate between eg; oxford to kenet and avon.

C70%
by C####:

Rubbish I live near the broads and according to app the nearest thing to do is over 81 miles away needs a lot of work for the rest of the country

C70%
by C####:

Would be good to add places we have visited in the past. Not able to because we are too far away. Anyway to override this?

C70%
by C####:

I am in Berkshire, when I check in and post to Facebook it says I am in Lancaster! The app has the correct check-in', but Facebook has a different one. Also no maps!

C70%
by C####:

Pointless to have canal maps without location of swing bridges, good moorings, watering points and locks. Uninstalled it.

C70%
by C####:

As usual from the canal and rivers trust, it's useless for the boaters on the network, aimed at walkers and cyclists what a surprise!

C70%
by C####:

Beautiful little App!

L70%
by L####:

More to do to make this a 5 star but still very interesting and useful. Adding info about the canals themselves such as locks, beam, etc would be invaluable. A way to add or suggest your own points of interest too.

I downloaded this app thinking it would help me plan a week on the Llangollen canal. Things like time and distance between features. Water taps, overnight moorings, winding holes and places to pump out. It doesn't do any of these things. (At least not that I could find). Now uninstalling.

C70%
by C####:

Great for tourists and walkers looking for canalside destinations - useless for the boating canal users who are funding the CRT by paying licence fees and taxes!

R70%

Good design, easy to use, and comprehensive.

Shows Lots of places to visit by the canal with good descriptions and information

Work in progress only. I am at the top lock at Tardebigge New Wharf and this app thinks I am at Earlswood???

W70%

Great. Especially useful with all the sun at the moment.

I want a waterways map, this seemed to offer that. Download and installed ok but most of it just doesn't work whatever I do.

G70%
by G####:

Very good

M70%
by M####:

Free, easy and informative. Shows some locks on mini maps but could be a bit more detailed at this point. Great written details. Services points are missing from maps though. Great "surrounding area" info too.

M70%
by M####:

This app is like "map/travel' apps is 'For Information Only'? Limited: what it can do, what can use it where it can be used

X70%
by X####:

Does not show basic useful information such as lock location, water and refuse points. Missing a trick in making an app but not allowing canal users to be able to log information about the canal, moorings, facilities and the local area.

O70%
by O####:

There isn't much point in this app right now, it doesn't really do anything. It needs a lot of functions added to it, but it has potential........ Being able to drop a pin anywhere and write a little review of the poi so all other users could see it would be great. This could cover anything from a lock, or water point to a nearby restaurant or pub

Please add more canals.
