What are users saying about NewzDroid NZB Downloader

U70%
by U####:

In theory it works. In practice, the effort to get working nzb files and the extremely slow speeds make the app useless. Nice concept, terrible app.

D70%
by D####:

Needs support for multiple connections, to fully utilize 4G. Also, interface is very messy.

F70%
by F####:

Developer seems to have abandoned this project. Doesn't work well. Cannot sustain speed and will randomly just lost connection and not get it back...

X70%
by X####:

Contrary to the complaints, it does actually work. My HTC Thunderbolt is downloading a file right now at 248 KB/s over wifi. That's not slow for a cell phone, but a speed test app shows the phone downloading at 3,800KB/s on this connection - so clearly NewzDroid is not making good use of the available bandwidth. That said, I'm still downloading NZBs on my phone!!! So even though it's not the fastest, and kind of cumberrsome to copy NZBs into the queue folder manually, I'm gonna say it's worth the $3.99.

by X####:

Dont get burned like i did by buying this app, try the free app nzb leech instead. Vote this helpful so others dont get burned

P70%
by P####:

Documentation for the App states that it creates it's file structure on the SD card, however on a tablet(Toshiba Thrive) it creates the file structure on the internal storage. Users should be able to change the default download directory. Other than that, the app works okay, but won't use it unless I can set the download dir to my SD card or external USB drive.

X70%
by X####:

Only single connections allowed, slow. No configurable download directory. No import nzb option. Almost, but not quite there. Refund.

X70%
by X####:

If you want to be able to use BinSearch for free binary searches, you'll need to use Firefox mobile. You can then download NZBs and NewzDroid launches automagically. Simple app - does what a newsgroup user wants - downloads... stuff.

L70%
by L####:

Would be 5 stars if multiple connections were supported and were allowed to open a file within the app rather than using a 3rd party file manager

X70%
by X####:

Allows my usenet provider of choice (any) with SSL. I use Opera Mobile to download NZBs from Binsearch & Root Explorer to unrar.

X70%
by X####:

Quite a nice app that does what it says. Easy enough to use. Its just a shame that it doesn't support multiple connections. Downloading anything substantial takes too long without it. The slow download time also takes its toll on battery life. I would have given this another star if it had multiple connections. Please add this valuable feature.

R70%
by R####:

Have to add files manually from nzb to get them to queue. It works but could do with some developing.

R70%
by R####:

great, supports ssl and works just fine for me over 3g, lets you use whatever provider you want. Needs more automation options like loading new nzbs into the download queue and deleting nzbs from the queue folder upon successful completion. Needs to save the queue upon exit instead of clearing it so it can be picked back up as soon as the app is launched again. As everyone else says multiple connections would be a great feature to add, but my provider maxes out my connection on one so not a deal breaker.

X70%
by X####:

No resume downloads no multiple download streams rubbish interface .... Wil get a refund which is a shame coz its a good idea

X70%
by X####:

Slowly working out the bugs. Downloading nzbs over 3 gb sucessfully. Not perfect. Best out there

I70%
by I####:

Avoid this program does not work! It keeps crashing, shows the nzb file but wont download anything and it doesn't even give any feedback. Avoid!!

X70%
by X####:

Multipart files you can forget it

X70%
by X####:

Not the most helpful app, no real feedback if its not signing in to your Usenet client. However, it works, could be better but not bad.

W70%
by W####:

Yer it works. But its so poorly done. single connection (very slow) and poor options. the core code is here, if the dev finished this=$$€€£££

X70%
by X####:

Can't load nzb's unless from a special site

T70%
by T####:

Please add support for multiple connections and resuming.

X70%
by X####:

Any chance of being able to change the default queue folder to the downloads folder as all the browsers use this folder.

X70%
by X####:

Queues up but won't download files. OG Droid.

X70%
by X####:

It dl's an NZB. I put the NZB in the queue folder manually. I "select all", click dl. It appears to dl the files. Then...no usable files anywhere...

J70%
by J####:

App is crapp. Don't waste you cash here.

X70%
by X####:

This is the only android app I could find that lets you download an nzb anywhere and import it for download. Love it! Fast and smooth.

X70%
by X####:

Really buggy and temperamental

X70%
by X####:

Needs a lot of work still.

X70%
by X####:

Have to move all the nzb files to a differnt folder everytime you want to start a download from nzbmatrix what a pain

E70%
by E####:

Doesn't work. Plain crap.

X70%
by X####:

Does what it says. Grouchy people on the market are just too retarded to read. Thanks for the app.

X70%
by X####:

HI I need to transfer my license to a new Google Account the Twanky Deuce Software doesn't provide a way to contact them and there isn't a clear way on this site. So I guess I just will stop using the software.

X70%
by X####:

The program itself isn't very self explanatory. I though it was broken until I followed a comment suggestion to select all files in nzb you download.

L70%
by L####:

Must have for anyone who wants to grab nzbs, linked to newzbin and set it up to access my Usenet account. Works great.

X70%
by X####:

scam. The positive comments are lies. This app is old, no updates and doesn't work. Don't be fooled. Positive comments are shills.

L70%
by L####:

Quite easily the worst app on my phone. Doesn't appear to like many valid nzb files, and for those it likes, it does its best to not download. Poor.

C70%
by C####:

Works great, use Firefox Mobile to get nzbs and you're set!

C70%
by C####:

Doesn't work on HTC desire 2.2 but neither does Droid news leecher...

X70%
by X####:

Desperately needs multi connections to make best use of usenet. Use of par files and a resume feature would make this a brilliant solution...

X70%
by X####:

Below average when it works, keeps closing the download 90% of the time so doesn't work! Wished I read the comments before buying.
