About SU Facilities
This app will put the Stellenbosch University (SU) campus in the palm of your hand. Find classrooms, explore buildings and facilities, learn about campus transport options, and report any problems you encounter along the way to our help desk. Our interactive map interface with Augmented Reality (AR) capabilities will give you a virtual tour of the whole Stellenbosch campus.
This app is proudly brought to you by Facilities Management (FM). We are focused on creating and maintaining the leading campus environment in South Africa.
The application will assist Stellenbosch University students and staff to:
- Have direct access to the FM help desk.
- Have direct access to the emergency hotline.
- Have access to FM news articles.
- Access to a university map with location information of the various campus buildings (i.e. building names, building information, address etc.). -Browse for faculties within buildings, contact information, directions, and floor plans of buildings and filter function via “Campus Map”.
- Access information of Facilities Management services through the “About” screen.
- Find university shuttle information such as departure times, departure points and GPS coordinates of the stops via the “Shuttle Map” screen.
- Access an alphabetical and searchable “Directory” of buildings, faculties, departments and more.
- Help to improve the FM application via the “Feedback” screen.
PLEASE NOTE:
There are minimum hardware requirements for the Augmented Reality functionality to work. If the functionality does not start when you lift your device horizontally on Campus Maps, then it is disabled.

Easy to use, but how does one use find and use the Augmented reality function? And also, the floor plans of the buildings are always very pixilated and don't seem to load anytime soon. EDIT: figured out how to use the Augmented reality function; have to have phone auto-rotate while holding landscape. 7.5/10 floor plans still pixilated

Once again Tygerberg does not feature. What about our campus? I'm sure it won't be that difficult to create a tab for us as well. Not as if we have more than one WiFi hotspot.

No exam info or maps are given for Stellenbosch's Tygerburg campus. I feel this should be added before this app is worth something to a Tygerburg student

Although in it's current state, the app is very well developed, there could be a lot more helpful and convenient features added, making this a general SU Student App. Please add the ability to see our: • SUNLearn course directory, • account details (finances and studies, etc.), • exam results, • class timetables, • internet usage, • printing fees, • library catalog, etc.... OR possibly develop separate MyMaties and SUNLearn Apps. This will bring up to the level of other Universities student help apps.•_•

Even after five years I still sometimes don't know where all the buildings are, so this is very useful. The floor plans are a great bonus. The AR is a bit gimmicky, but I suppose it could be useful for people just exploring the campus, having it separate from the campus map option though would be better.

So far I've only used this app for the exam timetables and venues. It's been accurate thus far. But it would be great if there was an option to view exam results on the app. I did notice that the twitter feeds and news articles on the home screen don't get updated very often.
