Detective Dogs is an entertaining, challenging, and all too elusive in this space, engaging game. What sets Detective Dogs apart from other match3 games is the existence of a crafty story. Cute characters advance the tale through witty dialog and plot surprises. Novel gameplay twists and styles are gradually introduced as the story unfolds, each tied to the antics and affairs of Hardy and Mac and the creative cast of characters they come across on their adventure. An assortment of powerups add depth to the game, but are introduced gradually so they don’t overwhelm. The auto-dynamic difficulty setting is impressive at creating an addicting challenge whether you’re a master or a beginner. The art is top notch, and really supports the personalities of each character encountered. The music fits the overall mood of the game and the sound is effectively used as a tool in the gameplay itself. Considering all the pluses, it’s no wonder the overall experience is just plain fun and addictive. You will constantly be tempted to see what happens next in the story, while the solid gameplay ensures it stands out as a perfect game to simply pick up and play when you find a free moment. Play it!

I love the Disney-style dog characters, they totally crack me up. It's all the game modes that really make this game fun, too. They change with the story, so you just keep playing and you get to play all the different ways. Solid fun.

There's only one thing I got to say about this game...it's the one I've played on a phone...if only the actual game was free though.
