Orion's Forge is a brain-teasing puzzle narrative where players help the celestial smith Orion create new stars. New stars are formed by guiding energy to each level’s star launcher! Players manipulate the path of energy by moving magnetic towers around the forge. The towers come in two polarities: push and pull. You must carefully adjust the magnetic field to avoid collisions with obstacles like black holes. Later levels introduce new mechanics like portals and converter beams which toggle the polarity of towers that touch the beam. Each completed challenge adds a new star to an unfolding constellation and reveals the next portion of a whimsically illustrated alien fable.

Positives: original concept.. Negatives: The writing is sub par. Negatives: game play is fun but it gets old very fast. My opinion: don't waste your $$ on this game..

It can be in a best collection of purchased games.

Overall, it was a very solid game. Lots of puzzles that require thought and sometimes random chance to figure out. Patience is definitely a virtue in some of the puzzles. The stories were quite interesting, and the art overall is fantastic. Personally, I would really love to see more levels, as this game definitely has the potential. However, for only $1, the time spent on this game makes it a pretty sweet deal.

This game feels like the developer had a great idea for a game and made all these cool visuals. But the inspiration run dry and made for a very short game.

The art style reminded me of Samurai Jack. The stories are great and my only complaint is that it wasn't longer!

This was a pleasant surprise. I wasn't too sure what to expect based off of the screenshots. I'm sure glad I checked it out though. The story elements are great (awesome job on the artwork guys), and the puzzle elements are new and hugely addictive. I don't know why I would have expected any less from these devs. Great job guys.

I adored playing this game, but it's way too short!

E70%

Fun little puzzle game but a prime example of what a lack of sound design can do. I kept expecting some sort of explosion or something when the stars for and nothing. Its petty but its something. All in all though a good little game

This should be free or add more levels. I could make a game like this easy. No challenge way to short and no replay value. Like i spent about 30 mins on this game. Can't do anything with this. My 99 cents could have gone a much more longer way then this trash. Want a refund.

T70%

Hardcore puzzle fans will be disappointed with the boring nor rhyme nor reason gameplay. The story and graphics are great along with the music. The gameplay sucks. Uninstall. Refund.

T70%

...waaaaaaaaay too short and easy to charge even a buck for. Finished the entire game in >45 minutes. Add some length and it gets 4-5 stars easy. As it stands, I feel ripped off.

Trinket Studios' Orion's Forge is a unique take on a puzzler; seamlessly pairing charming narratives, beautiful artwork and character concepts, and smooth "play on" transitions enveloped in a great soundtrack. Unfortunately, the gameplay is so smooth and intuitive, it makes the game seem even shorter than it already is. But how much is a dollar worth to you? To me, a game should be judged by its ingenuity and execution, rather than how many hours you can waste on it. In this case, Orion's Forge is so different than anything else many of us are used to. To the point where you may not like it. For me, its clever gameplay and well polished presentation made me crave for more. The object of this game is to guide the star energy to the finish, moving magnetic towers and avoiding obstacles. You can "easily" complete it by guessing, but if you like to think, you'll enjoy and appreciate this game's use of magnet physics along with other surprises that are gradually introduced throughout the game. And the stories. I smiled at every one of them. In short, I loved this game, however, it isn't for everyone. Read the other reviews and purchase with caution.

It is a simple puzzle game but even so it is far and away better than all of these micro-transaction farm/city/castle building games... the art style and imaginative plot is really quite lovely, the music is nice and it is only $0.99. I worry about the length and replay value but so long as it lasts more than the time it takes me to eat a $0.99 hamburger I suppose it is worth it. My only complaint is that I could not find a way to go back and see the completed narrative for each constellation that has been finished. I feel like the start menu could be padded out to include something like that along .

Fun, short and nicely presented. Difficult enough to get the brain some moderate excercise. Peace

Price reflective of this however, so all in all a worthwhile purchase. I felt the experience could have been improved with another piece, or two, of music and with some sound effects here and there. Such as a noise that plays when you change a towers polarity, noises for events like the individual stars being collected, or impacting on another tower and blowing up etc. Maybe towers have their own ambient noises, depending on their polarity and emit a pulse of sound, when they activate, etc.

The real attraction to this game is its playful use of the laws of Physics. For anyone out there that loves a good physics based puzzler, this is the game for you. Its fun, addictive, and challenging! Great followup to Color Sheep! Way to wear many hats Trinket!
