Os Filhos de Gandi não negam a fama de mais cobiçados do Carnaval de Salvador.
Inspirado nos princípios da não violência , Escola de Axé traz a tradição da “pegação” na avenida, ritmada pelo agogô nos seus cânticos de ijexá na língua Iorubá.
Gandinho, nosso primeiro personagem, usa tradicionalmente a 'fantasia' azul e branca, além do turbante e das vestimentas, um perfume de alfazema e colares azul e branco. Os colares já são conhecidos tradicionalmente por "colar dos filhos de Gandi", que são oferecidos para os admiradores como forma de desejar-lhes paz durante o carnaval e ao longo do ano.
E cada um usa de acordo com a indumentária, da maneira que se achar elegante, não existe quantidade fixa de contas para cada colar, nem quantos colares se deve usar.
Galanteador o Gandinho é conhecido por oferecer colares às mulheres em troca de beijos. Aquela que conquista mais adereços aumenta seu status, o que pode ser usado como vantagem para se dar melhor no Carnaval.
