Ban Numbers(A Math Puzzle)

A Ban number is a number that does not contain a particular letter when spelled out in English.

The ABAN numbers do not contain the letter A.The word and is not counted.Similarly with NBAN numbers too.

The EBAN numbers do not contain the letter E and so on.

Let us consider examples:

Is 36 SBAN?
36 when spelled in english is thirty six. It contains the letter 's'. So it is NOT SBAN.

Is 36 NBAN?
36 when spelled in english is thirty six. It does not contain the letter 'n'. So it is NBAN.

Let's take 106 and see whether it is ABAN:
106 is one hundred and six. Now we should completely disregard the word 'and'. Look only at one hundred six. Check whether the letter 'a' is present in one hundred six. Since there is no 'a' it is ABAN. Same goes with NBAN numbers too.

A fun way for kids to remember numbers and their spellings while giving them a taste of quick accurate decision making.

A puzzle that can be a pretty good brain exercise not only for the kids but adults as well.
