Countdown Game For Android

Not bad overall, but needs to add brackets (parentheses) on the numbers challenge; we need to be able to do things like: 75*10+((4/4)+1)... Because It wont allow this, some of the numbers games are impossible to do even if you know how. Will get five stars when this is fixed

Super game I spend hours on it, however have guessed the conundrum countless times.. it tells me I'm correct but gives no score.. very frustrating.! If this gets fixed you'll get 5 stars from me.

It's really well made and fun to play. Once you get used to how the numbers bit works, you can see it's a pretty intuitive system. Great app! Edit: sometimes when the Conundrum is solved correctly, it says so, but does not award points. Just a small bug, but it affects the scoring. Still love the app!

Liked the game as a whole, but a major flaw is the fact that the answer has to be typed WITHIN the 30 seconds. Eg, on the show, if a contestant gets the conundrum at 29secs, it is perfectly valid. However, if I get it at 29secs, I simply don't have time to type it and therefore miss out on the points. Same goes for all rounds. Perhaps there should be an extra 4secs or something after the round when the letters/numbers disappear, but players can still type answers which they noticed near the end! Thanks

Excellent game but it needs to decide on American English or English. It's frustrating when you put a word in and it's a Z then next time it's an S. Also sometimes you guess the conundrum and get nothing for it

I got the conundrum right but it told me I was wrong and gave me zero points, this has happened multiple times. This needs fixing. Aside from that it's a good game.

Apart from the infuriating conundrum bug, which says your answer is wrong, then displays your answer as the cotrect one!!!! Other than that, it's a great likeness to the TV show. I would say.... stick with it if you like Countdown, it just takes a bit of getting used to. Letters, numbers & a conundrum, that's Countdown! Particularly enjoyed the conundrum for PUBESCENT..... Ap designers obviously have a sense of humour!! Nicely done

Nice little game. Addictive. Very fun. However, one thing disappointed me regarding the conundrums. There's no clue which if you are bad at anagrams (like me) deems it impossible. A few bugs and glitches also.

Very good game for those who enjoy Countdown or just word/number games in general. Only real flaw is you are not able to use brackets when doing calculations in the numbers round - cure this and you get five stars!

Fun game. Downside - some words appear made up that 'you could have had'. I used words like 'ousted' and 'tudor' both of which are in oxford dictionary, both scored zero points. Happened with other words in daily use too.

Could do with a mode where it doesn't count down as we use this to provide the questions for family fun and then when we have hit our self imposed time limit then want the answer... However if you want to play the game in the normal 30 seconds I can't fault it....

The numbers round is hard in this format. Not sure how it could be improved though, as matching the facility of pen and paper is impossible in 30 seconds. Game crashed on "submit score" window after I entered a name that was too long and had to shorten it. It restarted immediately and the text on the buttons was tiny!

No brackets to allow sub-equations making some of the sums to be accurately completed on screen, although they can be done in your head. Really does need fixing.

But where are the definitions from? Some v bizarre. Some common words not in dictionary e.g. raita. The last conundrum I did was ignorance and the definition was from the common book of prayer! Passes the time tho and is fun.

I love the game but most of the time it crashes before i have even started the game and freezes my phone so i can't do anything!!!

Game is great for practicing for when I appear on the show shortly. Only glich is when I try and start a new game it always says unfortunately countdown has stopped. Reported lots and I have uninstalled and reinstalled.

If you close the app and re-open you get a few error messages, then it works after about 15 seconds. Using Jelly Bean.

This is an excellent version of the game, very true to the tv program. However the 1 thing missing from the app is that Rachel Riley isn't in the room dealing the letters. Please fix this on the next update!

Great app, really polished. Shame i'm so bad at it. Still, with a bit of diligence (9) and some endurance (9) i'm sure I'll skyrocket (9) to the top of the leader board and beat the conundrum every time! I need to get out more.....

Great idea. Did have some issues running marshmallow. Keeps stopping so could be a resolution issue when rotating. Well done for a fun game.

I'm not from Britain but I do watch countdown quite a bit excellent likeness but there's a slight problem. The vowels and consonants automatically pick out instead of you pushing the buttons

Some words found in modern dictionaries have not been allowed, The numbers solutions are often difficult to understand. On a few occasions I have been successful in getting the conundrums correct but have been awarded no points

It even has suggested words and how to solve the numbers game. Well done developers!!!! Updated feedback - conundrum round in the full game is bugged. Even if correct answer it gives 0 points and still says correct answer. Missed on top score plenty a times

Personally I would love the option to set longer timers for games (ie a beginner level) so I could practise and enjoy them at my own pace. The limits here (including the 'practise' area) are brutal and it's hard to stretch yourself when the buzzer keeps interrupting. There are also a couple of bugs, but sadly this game is totally unsupported by the developer (no help contact) so you just have to live with them. A real shame, as this could be such a great app for Countdown lovers.

I've had two or three instances where my conundrum answer was correct, and the game responded with "Success! 'word' is in the dictionary", and yet it buzzed and awarded no points (have screenshots to prove it). As for the math - it's confusing, but workable without brackets. Each operation yields a subtotal, which becomes a number block that can be used. So, even though you can't do: 7 x 100 + (75/25) = 703, you do this instead: 7 x 100 = 700, then 75/25 = 3, then + 700 = 703.

Fun game, if a little unpolished visually. But the one thing that NEEDS to be updated is the ability to use brackets in the numbers rounds. The solutions given often show brackets, but there is simply no way to use them when solving the puzzle.

App is not to bad but would be better if it didn't break down so much maybe the game supplier can do something about this

So good, really good if you want practice mental maths or thinking fast! The only thing they could improve is the fact that you can't use brackets in the maths part. Apart from that out was great!

I love this game, but recently the game isn't saving my high scores...fix it plz!!

I didn't get annoyed once. The only problem is it doesn't give me a teatime teaser....

Love Countdown and this on the go app let's me play it whenever I have time to kill. Awesome work

The scoring system is too heavily biased to the conundrum; why 10 pts per second left, but only 1pt on the numbers, and no bonus on the letters? Either be consistent or drop the bonuses altogether and follow Countdown's scoring system. Also, too many times you get the conundrum right and it gives the same word as the solution, but no points. Others have reported this bug but still not fixed. Update: after further use there are too many problems with the dictionary used; e.g. conjugion, diagonial are conundrum solutions but are not real words. The definition of diagonial even gives the definition of diagonal. There is also a fault with the conundrum scoring which gives negative "bonus" points so you score less than 100 even if you get it correct.

Conundrums are WAY too difficult - there are some major 'out there' words, overall though, the best on offer.

I love playing this with my friend . Would be great to be able to use in-game function to facilitate that ( self start timer on practice mode would suffice). The word list is quite outdated ( rejected TOOART, GUSLES, QORMA, BURITIS) CSW15 is now out. The conundrum sometimes bugs out with a correct answer ( says I get 100 but no score . Latest example was BREATHFUL, which would have only taken around 15s). Would love more Conundrums!

Hard to believe that you could pack an entire countdown game into less than 1MB...

I find the letters very small. Why not make them bigger in the box similar to TV ones?

Thank you Bryan, such a great game. No ads, which is great. I wish I could add more time for the numbers, and it took a while to suss out how to use the numbers game properly (brackets aren't needed!).

Not being to use parentheses in the numbers round: can instead rearrange calculation order (though I would prefer them as it is quicker.) Would like to see my calculation alongside solution so I can get better. Good effort overall, I hardly miss not having Rachel and Susie! Can't wait to see what you develop next :-)

This is the best version around. Excellent layout, shown solutions is a fantastic function, no ads and free. It's like playing for real. You really can't ask for much more. I hope you got an A for this!! Some bugs which others have mentioned; unable to use brackets properly, correctly answering the conundrum doesn't work at times but these are rare. My only gripe is the dictionary could be extended to include multiple valid sources. Many valid words are not excepted. Thank you developer.
