About Chess Repertoire

This app intends to help chess players to build up a sound repertoire based on main lines. We have developed a new approach to learning openings, making it easier than ever for players to learn and memorize a chess repertoire.

First you must choose, from a wide list, your favorite openings and add them to your chess repertoire.

Once you have decided your repertoire, you can start working with it through the theory. There you can see which lines and moves we have prepared for you in order to face all the possibilities your opponent has against you.

Finally, when you are ready, you can challenge yourself and move on to the tests. Each pack contains a set of tests where all the lines are covered. Your mark in each test will depend on two factors: the number of lines you have worked and the results you have obtained in each line.

When you start getting confident, you can add more advanced levels, where more and more positions are shown so that your knowledge of a certain opening will rapidly increase.

This app will really help you to improve your chess level because nowadays it is vital to have a consistent, coherent and sound chess repertoire in your armoury. The good thing is that now you will be able to study your repertoire everywhere, any time you wish. You will also be able to check after every game you play, what you were supposed to have played and thus, learn from your mistakes.

We propose a chess repertoire to you for black based on almost every defense that exist and different repertoires for white depending on your first move choice (1.d4, 1.e4, 1.c4 or 1.Nf3).

Don't waste time downloading this. Never could figure out how to use it. When I chose Scandinavian, it says 148 positions for that opening, but there is no button or way to get past the first one.

Nice app for opening practice. Being a beginner, I wish there was a setting to make the drills start from move 1.

Don't bother. They want you to watch them show you a few moves into each opening line, then you must pay to see other moves deeper than those first five moves. Pathetic. Save yourself money and buy a book on openings. Why would anyone pay to see moves they could simply sit down and move themselves? At least in a book you would get comments relating to the theory on each particular line. This is a pathetic money grabbing app. and those supporting it should be ashamed and chess players insulted.

Great app good for studying lines and designing our own variations

It's a great idea, some flaws in execution, all surmountable. But the devs don't seem to want to improve. They've ignored emails from me over a few months about one of the critical problems. Basically when you upgrade to level 2 or 3 in an opening, say goodbye to level 1.you can't review it. Despite what they claim in FAQ, you can't get it back. If u delete the new purchase and try to add the opening again, you can't, u can just restore ur purchase and stay at level 2/ 3. That's the punishment for buying

Why do we have to obey another report of yours? Why can't we just create our own lines in it and then make the app to help us? That would be so much good..

Download Error. Not licensed. I though this was a free app ?!? Anyway I tried and tried again but no luck on my Galaxy s3. Edit tried it on my Galaxy Tab S 8.4 and same error?!? May be the developer of this app hate Samsung devices ;-)

The interface can take some time getting used to, but once you do it is a great way to study your openings. Lots of openings ade free but you have to pay for extra ones (totally usable without paying anything). I could buy ALL openings for a resonable price I would, but buying each individually seems too pricey.

Not bad but only covers some lines. Can't find Italian game for white or any gambits. Would be nice to add pgns. I'll up the rating if I see improvements.

The author chose certain lines and variations over others that are equally as sound. For instance, there is no option to play the French Winawer or Berlin Wall variation of the Ruy Lopez in the initial free positions. It also would have been nice to be able to play through a random position from within the entire repertoire instead of playing through them all individually.

Drilling openings is actually more effective than watching a DVD/video created by a GM. The increasing difficulty levels are a nice concept, and I don't mind paying up for the extra data. However, I'm not sure WHAT I'm studying. Clearly they have picked some lines over other equally playable ones. These are suggested by an unknown author. They look perfectly sound, but it is A repertoire.. Not one of the users choosing. So if this is ok with you then the app is just great. One feature I would like is the ability to reset your scores, so I can come back later and try again with a clean slate. Either that or some sort of intelligent history storage/recall. Overall, well done!

Use everyday a set of different offenses or defenses like the Grunfeld as it was a favorite of Larsens, not sure about the variations, might be nice to have an engine score somewhere..and some hedgehog variations
