Heart of the House

One of the best ones released yet. The narrative is engaging and the characters are a delight to interact with. There was some suspenseful elements but overall it didn't feel like as much of a horror experience as I initially thought it was, but the fact alone didn't detract from the experience. The romance options have so many possibilities and different branching options that it took me a few more playthroughs to get it. Overall, great experience.

Great story, well developed characters. Good length. The story gets a little confusing is a couple parts but not so much as to drop any stars. I'd love to see another "episode" for these characters to tackle. Well done

The story was simply amazing. I'm obsessed with it! Everything was perfect in my opinion: the characters, the story, the narration and those plot twists... wow. I seriously recommend it to any fan of the victorian era and of Choices of Games.

What a captivating story! I couldn't put it down, and I'm actually excited to run through it again! The author has a fantastic sense of adventure, and the read through, while heavy at times, was still thoroughly entertaining. If you like Choose Your Own Adventure, Lovecraft, and a good dose of flirtation, give it a go!

I really liked the game, full of suspense. There was a moment wherein the story didn't flow so good with the choice i made, but it was only a minor thing.

I've read a lot of choice of games. Near all of them actually. I've been a fan of the company for a while now. Nissa Campbell did a phenomenal job here. Her writing, her diction, her characterization, her attention to detail. It all coalesces to what is now one of my favorite choice of games interactive novels. I feel especially inclined to comment on Campbell's approach to romance. Nothing about the evolution of both platonic and sexual relationships seemed robotic. With other choice script games the characters seem kind of like one dimensional romantic interests and that's about all they serve. Not here. Also one of the most tasteful depictions of a sexual encounter I've ever read.

A few bugs towards the end and in the achievements, but still amazing! Very immersive so plan to spend a few hours on your first play through!

A great story can be undone by its ending and for me thats what happened here. This is one choice of games that would strongly benefit from an auto save feature so readers don't have to go all the way to the beginning to get a satisfying ending

Favourite one. Its so good. All your choices have effects and its not a matter of bign one click away from death and having to restart the story. Its such a good story

I was surprised at how much I liked this story. I'm usually not into horror, but in this I found romance and mystery. It was interesting. Hopefully there are more stories by this author in the future.

This is imo the best choice of to have come out this year. The writing is phenomenal and gripping. The characters were interesting and the romance is shockingly steamy in all the right ways. I highly recommend any one to read this absolute gem.

I would love to game more then like it but for some reason on my device the pages were broken (samsung 6 edge) and I couldnt figure out how to fix it... edit: turning off the edge screen fixed it

Seems ok, but a few times it feels like it's trying to pigeonhole you into certain choices. With Dev, for example, as others have pointed out.

Although there were a few continuity things, the game was fantastic. A true gothic adventure through the occult. I loved my first run through, and look forward to more.

Was a lot longer than I expected given the last few I've bought weren't that long. Overall, great read. Good characters and plot.

Oh my God!! This is one of THE GREATEST stories that I've ever read! Engaging, amazing characters, a fun theme, just everything was incredible!

At first I was skeptical about the setting, but it turned out to be an overall amazing story, and I didn't even need to restart because of stupid stat checks to get an ending I was happy with.

This is such a perfect game that I'm nearly breathless! The writing is superb and so immersive, characters intriguing, and the mystery is SO SO good!!

I loved this game, the writing was unique and kept my attention, and the characters are just absolutely darling. Loren is a sweetheart, I love them. The nice addition of being able to pick your gender as well and if you're trans to be able to relate to Loren is really sweet. There was a glitch near the end though. I let Oriana go through the portal but then after it's closed she's still here and claiming she's trapped.

This is the best Choice of Game/Hosted Game I've played since Choice by Gaslight and Affairs of the Court. Writing is snappy, suspenseful and often genuinely scary, the characters are great, and the amount of choices/replay value is huge. Couldn't put it down! I got a tragic ending my first time through, but I can't wait to play it another time or five and root out all the secrets!

Beware it's a bait and switch. No choices you make have any effect before the paywall and then it's "pay to read further". Nope. Not nearly as enjoyable as the great tournament and I refuse to be blackmailed into purchasing.

The writing is bad and confusing. The world building is none. All the magic background seem has little to do with the world. The effect of the stats are little to none. I would advice against buying this one.

I adore this game the story is well thought out and vivid and the writing is one of the strongest and most detailed I have seen in a while! I loved it so much I bought a copy here and itunes. Might even snag another copy on steam if that says anything about how good this is~

One of the best additions to Choice of Games' library! It was well worth the $5, as I intend to replay the game to discover every secret this incredible story holds. While some aspects of the magic could have used more explanation, the experience was immersive and I couldn't stop playing until I finished my first game.
