The literary quality of this game is amazing. I almost just had to start taking it at face value as a good piece of literature instead of a "game" because of how well the story is incorporated into the player's choices. The character development is superb, and the twists and turns are edgy and really force you to think about your decisions. Love!!!

Z70%
by Z####:

Your decisions mean less in this game than they do in any other choice of game. You cannot choose to be a villain. Youre dragged through the same downfall no matter what options you choose. Too many commas in the wrong places. They don't know what the definition of "prodigal" is.

When I first read the chapter I wasnt interested as I didnt rly care about wannabe Heroes. However after playing Versus, I decided to give this game a try since it was written by the same author. Author did a good job on creating an engaging story that made you think and glued especially the 2nd part of the series. Im playing the third one right now but I highly recommend buying from the 1st one before buying 2nd or the 3rd. Good job COG team. Note I bought almost all COG game and few Hosted ones. I must say these series are on my favorite list along with Meta Human and Versus.

Cool yet somehow I felt like I was tailored to lose, like my choices made my hero just...fail. Legend score? Right, just tell me I am a loser outright. No villain options? Cause if ya gonna suck, might just lose it and kill everyone.

I was immersed in the story telling from the moment I started reading. I am glad I found you through Community College Hero! I played through all three in 2 days... would have been 1 but I had to sleep haha this is my second favorite of the series ! Absolutely loved the trilogy and can't wait to see what your brain comes up with next!

Absolutely love this interactive novel, every Penny of mine was well spent.. The story is engaging and close to humanity nature, not the normal holier than thou heroes drama.. I totally feel for Black Magic/Lucia, and am glad that she found someone trust worthy and love her in me... I will never betray her and am willing to stand by her till the end

Awesome, enjoyed it so much as well as the sequels and hope for amazing content as soon as possible! for anyone who is on the fence about paying money for it; its worth every penny.

I'm just here to echo the other reviews. At first I was hesitant to spend money on this even with the glowing reviews, I'm a naturally skeptical man myself. But this entire series is exceedingly well written, your choices matter and its world is amazing. If you love Cyoa, start here and find out for yourself that I'm not just some paid reviewer.

It's an alright story, but it's really linear. Aside from small things like costume and power color, favorite hero, etc the story is laid out in stone it seems, nearly unflinching. Only changing who likes you. Which seems to be no almost one. Which is understandable as the Mc is kinda a fool. Save your money, Go get Robots.

I've been a long time fan of these text games and Heroes Rise is another hit! Now I'm off to continue my story in the second game.

I am completely and utterly astonished at how engaging this 'game' is. The other choice of games have been great but this one truly stands out. I really feel like I AM the character. Anybody who passes this up is really missing out on one of the best game you'll ever find to date on a mobile device.

This game is unbelievably good I beat all three of them in a week I seriously could not stop reading this stuff and to the people who made this game I like to give a sincere thank you this is by far one of the most enjoyable games I have played in my life and considering I normally go for graphically flashy games and this game has no graphics to speak of it really says a lot about the quality of the material

This was my second Choice of Games text RPG and I must say it's way better than my initial foray. In fact, I really liked this one due to the complex nature of the decisions my superhero character has to make. I could do without the 'romance' aspect. Not that I'm anti-romance in any way, but it was handled in a rather juvenile almost Twilight-esque manner. Frankly, there was something a bit squick-worthy in how the potential 'love interest' kept kissing my heroine before she could give full consent. However, I loved the relationship between my character and her grandmother (loved the sentient plants). There were some interesting twists and turns that I didn't see coming. Overall, I liked this so much that I've just bought and downloaded the sequel.

I have only played one play through... But, I could tell how linear the story was... It's also not very gripping... Mostly the decisions range from kick or punch... I also restarted the game to find out choosing another option produced the exact same result. If you are looking for a super hero game choose "Community College Hero".

I've been binge reading this series for a few days now, and I'm currently in the middle of Hero Project: Redemption. The story line is so inticing and the characters are unique and thought out. There are quite a few grammatical errors; however, the substance of the story and character developement do far more than make up for these errors.... each entry in this epic series is more than worth their price.

This is it. Personally I can't stand reading things overwhelmingly optimistic, which I'd expected from the description. I was wrong and judged a book by it's cover. This whole series is great. There are complaints of it being too linear and not having your choices affect too much, but I feel like that's kinda necessary for it to be a series. The further you get, the more you see the changes. This one mostly sets up the other parts to the series. Definitely worth getting.

Shallow, crude, linear - expecting you to follow a certain path or face disappointment. The only "real" choices are cosmetic. This game is made to humiliate, moralize and belittle. The exact opposite from what "choice" games should be.

N70%
by N####:

This was one of the best games by choice of games, second only to robots. The one thing that crushed my experience with this game is the loss of sparrow. I actually felt attached to her, but boy do I get a pleasant surprise when she reveals herself to be flipping prodigal. That put me through a sour mood for the rest of the game and sequels.

N70%
by N####:

A guy posted earlier an example of why the game wasn't top notch, saying you choose your favorite hero in the beginning and it tells you that someone else is your hero unless you picked that hero. That is false information, if you pay attention to the game you will realize this. He is correct about actions not affecting the story too much, but it's still a great story, and just like mass effect, the choices in this story affect the other games. So buy the whole series, not just this one.

N70%
by N####:

Frankly boring, and predictable. Choices didn't seem to matter at all. If you want a depressing game where every action leads to nothing good, then sure, this is a good game. Otherwise, pick up Choice of Robots or Choice of Pirates. Way better.

How does internet enabled microchips equal selective, nonsense super powers? Seriously at least TRY to justify it. Saying that powers were caused by the chips with no explanation is just lazy writing.

N70%
by N####:

Incoherent, nonsensical setting. Choices that don't really matter. A constant feeling of being railroaded by the plot (and getting screwed over every step of the way). This is the worst Choices game I've played. It managed to suck out all the fun you would think you'd have being a superhero.

D70%
by D####:

You aren't really given a clear indication of how you make choices in a lot of major cases. For example, does making a grab for a powerful weapon a choice based on greed or because you don't want it to fall into bad hands?

I loved this series so much, seriously. Buy all three parts of this story, then The Hero Project Redemption Season because they are all worth the read. Hats off to the author, you've made an amazing series and I can't wait to see what you've got in store for us next.

I only played this first one because I wanted to play the trilogy in order and it almost feels as though I shouldn't have. The rigid decision system gives no room for making an interesting character without suffering negative consequences. The love interest felt trite and just wasn't interesting to me and the ending basically trashed what little parts of the story that I had enjoyed. To add insult to injury you recieve a page at the very end that tells you what decisions you should have made!!

N70%

Just buy it, you won't be disappointed at all the story, the character development, the twists and turns will have you hooked. Trust me just buy it

W70%
by W####:

Not much to say. This game, the whole trilogy, is amazing. Fun, funny, engaging, dramatic...not much can be said beyond the corny "If you play one Choice Of game..."

C70%
by C####:

Some consequence's choices aren't very visible. And some choices seem useless (the battle choices). The other choices seems always to miss a little what you want to do and some give just dumb responses. Added with the fact that you can't rewind, it's a little frustrating. The game is rather cheap and maybe it's just me who has problem with these choices, so I still recommend to try it. But I have played Choice of robots (from the same company) and loved it far far far more. So... Your choice ! ;)

M70%
by M####:

Coming off of other, similar games where choices actually affected the story in meaningful ways, I was disappointed. In this game, it seemed that the moment you make a choice, the very next paragraph of story either continues like you didn't even make a choice or immediately undermines your decision. example: you have to choose your favorite hero early in the game; the rest of the game constantly tells you that your hero is someone else unless you happened to pick that pre-ordained person.

But hate that I keep buying them lol, no really they are amazing you'll keep wanting more and more is what I mean. love the choice of game "games" because truly I see them as books and I loved the choose your own adventure books as a child so these are an absolute must if you loved those and still do.

K70%
by K####:

I really love the storytelling. Characters are cool too and the decision making is good, somewhat useless at times but still worth your time. The "combat" is also quite strategic at times, although sometimes it doesn't really matter what you do. I still rate this 5 because it's a very enjoyable adventure.

Need more of this series! I love love love love it! Love all the choice games but this is so far and away the best! Have been on a rollercoaster of emotions, that are so deep as you really become the main character, and your connections to other characters is so strong you really feel the decisions you make. I am now so emotionally invested in this series and need more. And I'm someone who is generally quite emotionless! Get the whole series people you'll never regret it it's the best thing!

I bought this game out of curiosity, having almost never touched a text-only choice-based game before. And man am I glad I did ! This game is absolutely awesome ! The universe is mesmerizing, filled with truly remarkable characters, helped with a stunning writing style that depicts a fascinating story ! If the same quality can be expected from the other games, I can twll you I will buy and play the sh*t out of all of them ! Seriously, give this game a try. You might be surprised by how it will enchant you !
