Choice of Rebels: Uprising

Overall, the game is fantastically written and your choices feel like they have impact. It ended a bit abruptly for my liking because it felt like we'd get to see the rebellion through to the end in this game. I'm not disappointed there'll be a sequel just a bit shocked it ended so quickly.

Free content is brilliant. It even has replayability. Really looks like a brilliant game, probably worth buying. Could wish the free content had a little more plot and a little less flashback, but that's a quibble. Really neat.

Fantastic story, meaningful decisions, good characters. I can't wait for the next part. It would be good if I could restart an act instead of having to wait until the end if I choose the wrong option accidentally. I'll never like swipe to choose thing that Choice of Games has added to their format.

I don't usually write reviews, but this one is so brilliantly written and executed, I feel like I need to. The story is probably the best I've ever read in a Choice of game; the only thing lacking imo is that I felt like I could use some more time to get to know the characters' personalities. The chapter replay function is such a useful feature, Choice Of Games should make this a standard one. Aside from a few "comment" choices, I felt like each choice mattered, severely. Finally, I must add, the game is probably the hardest Choice of I've ever played. The rebel band management part and SPOILER ALERT!!!! traitor finding/innocence proving sections are simply brutal. Overall, a solid 5/5. Can't wait for the sequel.

This is really well written. I enjoyed the setting and characters. One of the best ones I have read in awhile. I was pretty annoyed when it ended though. I was unaware that this would be part of a larger game series and have no real ending. If you want to do installments because you have a larger story to tell, that's fine. But I do think you should make that clear when someone is reading the description so they can decide whether they want to play something they can't finish for another year or more. Bummed.

Loved it. Branches a whole swiving lot. I had no idea I could be theurge, and I missed a companion somewhere along the line apparently lol. Was kind of disappointed that there would be a sequel to be honest, now I've gotta wait for that for the story to conclude but eh, I can wait. Regardless, I loved the story to the end. The world is interesting if a bit hard to understand at first, the characters are great, the plot kept me interested the whole time, and it seems there's plenty of choices to try out. Which I will, gotta get that perfect ending after all.

I loved the story! And all of your choices matter, it's pretty addicting to go back and see how other choices would have panned out. But the first chapter is so incredibly challenging to get thru, it definitely had me immersed in the world. But a few of the choices sometimes are unclear in what exactly they mean, but for the most part its easy to understand. Im excited for the next one! Also spoilers: Is it even possible to keep Breden alive and with you?

Really great writing but some issues picked up on. 1) Why not just bleed helots on a monthly basis? Why is death required? 2) Why is Ganelon not a romance option? They seem to just appear and then disappear 3) The caste terminology makes it much harder to read and rather than adding flavour just seems unnecessary

To the developer: could you make more free games please? We know it's easier to make money by forcing users to purchase the game but you may attract more people if you launch more free games. Almost all the entirely free games of this genre are not good except The Great Tournament and Doomsday On Demand. It will be highly appreciated if you could launch a good text based rpg game which is totally free because you can only spend so much money on games when you don't earn at all

Honestly really interesting story and well written, however I can't play it I've tried 4 times so far to make it through the first challenge and all my people die so it ruined the game for me. Edited: I find it a worse game after making it past the first chapter I'm tired of clicking options that lead to illogical conclusions

i got declared messiah, exploded three mages, flew, got an old woman killed, met a tree man, and decided to cross the desert to look for furries. 20/10 would explode again

Games alright the first time you read through it, but I find it a chore to try and get a specific ending on my second and third playthroughs. Especially with the random elements, but then I hate random stuff.

Very well written, I liked the world in which it's set and the characters who manage to make things lively by having a diverse range of personalities. The first chapter took me about 4 hours to complete which I was happy about (there's nothing worse than a book that's too short). Overall the game (mostly the first chapter at least) is about managing your band of outlaws/rebels and to be honest the romance, while present, was disappointing and was never made a priority almost to the point where there might as well have not been one in the first place. All in all, I don't regret the purchase and may even do another playthrough... or two.

Aside from choice of robot this is the most compelling cyoa I have ever played. A vast and meticulously well crafted world, along with a seemingly endless list of choices with genuine consequence make this a must read.

Fantastic storytelling and character development. The only problem I have with it is all the different words and phrases for things, but that is more of a personal problem.

Great written story, involved with good character development. And great length. One of the best I've read. At first it is a little hard to learn who Is who, but still a great read. Can't wait for next installment. Please hurry.

This is a great text-based game, the story is intense, gripping and an absolute thrill! If this was just a book with a fixed story it would still be great, but it's not just that, you actually affect the outcome of your story. Many textbased games just give you an illusion of choice, but in this game nearly all your choices have some impact on the outcome. Personally I can't wait for part two to be released.

Don't listen to the people who want free games, y'all don't even charge that much for games! I've been a loyal buyer for a few years now, keep being awesome!

This story is really good but occasionally when i try to give silver to people it wont let me type an amount and tapping ok only leads to a popup saying enter an amount

Wow. This is probably one of the best games by choice of games I have played so far. It wasn't too short - in fact I was surprised at the length of the story - and I was invested in it from the beginning.

This is an Epic Work of interactive fiction. Highly Recommended for anyone who enjoys Game of Thrones or similar novels.
