"The Superlatives: Aetherfall" is a 260,000-word interactive novel by Alice Ripley. It’s entirely text-based, without graphics or sound effects, and fueled by the vast, unstoppable power of your imagination.

But on the very day the Society plans to initiate you, unknown Villains destroy the Society headquarters and kidnap your colleagues! As the sole remaining full member of the Superlative Society, you must initiate new recruits to investigate the abduction.

Meet your team: Nimble—faster than lightning; Wailer—a "banshee" with sharp blades and sonic shriek attacks; Arturek—the gruff Martian warrior; Tua—a Venusian who commands the power of plants; and Black Orchid—a strangely familiar new recruit. Your efforts are bolstered by your faithful Clockwork assistant, Gatsby, and your always-butting-in rival, Hallow.

Will your gain your team’s trust and convince them to work together, or will they fall apart under the pressure? Will you cut a deal with London’s Villains, or even turn the Society into Villains yourself? Will you trust the mysterious Dusk and Mr. Ink, who offer you help, or will you uncover their many secrets?

I have almost all COG game, this one is on my top list of favs. Well written, funny and the choices is easy to understand. Appreciate that it is not so nitpicky. While I can enjoy game that make you manage resources and such, sometimes it is nice to play a game just for enjoyment and not stressful one. If you like survival/harder games, I suggest Choice of the Rebellions or The Lost Heirs series. Lastly, if you enjoy this game, you will enjoy the Hero Series. Good job COG. I'm looking forward to another of your games.

Honestly I've only ever obsessed over very few games like this that's Zombie Exodus and Unatural both are games with long well worth stories that I loved and this one is up there with them

Thank you. The best read I've had in a while. Though, I do kind of agree with Colt WB.'s review in his spoiler section. I would've liked to have read more of the character's epilogues than just simply looking through memory.

Choice of Games has done it again. I mean, steampunk AND superheroes? What will they come up with next?

One of the better stories by CoG. Kept me fully invested, was intense and felt like I was really there. Highly recommended.

One of my favorites! I was slightly reluctant when I saw the price, but this book delivers. The author should be proud and I'd love for this book to expand. 5/5

A great game overall. Very well written and great characters. A bit expensive in my opinion but that's just a minor issue.

It was amazing. Really gripped my attention and brought me back to when I first started to get into these novels.

I really loved this one. There's a lot of variance, a number of memorable, distinct characters I really enjoyed, a good variety of relationship dynamics, entertaining action, and an excellent epilogue to wrap it up that promises more to come. Very pleased and impressed. I'm looking forward to the next one, I hope to see.

It needed to be a bit longer. It didn't feel like the ending really gave that feeling of completion. Felt a bit rushed

I was disappointed with how the epilogue went down. The sudden perspective shift left me quite confused but the results also felt muddled not giving me a clear idea of what choices were made. I also had a problem with the character Wailer specifically in how she seemed in the epilogue to be a completely different character the whay she was for about 90% of the story.

Amazing game. It is been a lot since interactive game captivated me like this. So much choices and replayability, vast world and complex characters. Everyone and every place seemed unique and enjoyable. A big bravo to the writer. Although, its pure epicness, the ending seemed a little disconnected from our MC. I loved how with unique way, the writer showed and gave us a hint on part too. *SPOILER* But i believe, that if, first he gave us a little more scenes with our romance, or with everyone, to experience with first hand and not in a memory , it would be seen as more intimate and close. And after, do the memories, showing maybe a house or kids or whatever the writer wished. *END* Still, amazing and i gladly recommend it!! Worth every euro!

I rank this one up there with old favorites--Sabres of Infinity, Tin Star, Zombie Exodus and many others. The story is well-written and full of choices. The characters are memorable and full of persona. I can't wait for the sequel!

First off, This if one of the THE best CoG game that I've ever played. The world is fascinating, it felt like reading a British version of the manga Gintama, with the characters straight from Mass Effect, minus the whole random shenanigans, sadly that is one of the aspect the writing seems to lack. fortunately, the whole story is compelling enough that it made you care more about the story instead of the random bits and piece of stuff. The stat could use some work as it is really hard to determine what options does what. There is also the issue with the combat, there are too many options! I,for one welcome the variety, it provides a wider option of how the battle unfolds, though a lot of the time i just randomly pick something and hope for the best, OR pick something that I know are my safest choice. Overall, the game is a must play if you like Text based games. You get to be a British super hero of the olden steampunk scifi fantasy world!

This is probably one of best interactive stories you have released. I find myself playing it over and over as I have with many of them. They never cease to capture my attention and impress me. Good job!

Remember when free meant free? You know. As in no cost? Choice of games apparently never knew that. It's a bait and switch.

When taking wailer with you in chapter 2 and you tell her to be quiet when meeting the Saturnian, the second paragraph says at the start "set wailer %-10 She glares". It just takes me out of the moment when trying to get into the adventure.

Ending is a bit jumbled in my opinion. But VERY entertaining. One of the best super hero stories produced by this team. Author, you deserve every dollar from this. Very good read.

I've played a lot of CoG's games, and this one has some of the strongest choices and consequences. Excellent for roleplaying a character.

I've rated this five stars to support the developers, and let them know how much I truly enjoyed this story. The characters are deep and likable. I felt connections with a couple of them that I haven't been able to find in some of your other games. Romantic options were varied and interesting, with people you or I would have actual interest in. Having read and purchased most of these books, I can for sure say that this installment, is in the top 3, simply for the insanely grand writing. Thank you.

Excellent game. This is even better than the Heroes Rise series. Reason for that is because, for me, this feels a lot more like a true superhero story, without any excess baggage. Well done.
