About Shadowrun: Dragonfall - DC

Shadowrun: Dragonfall - Director’s Cut is a standalone release of Harebrained Schemes' critically-acclaimed Dragonfall campaign. The Director's Cut adds a host of new content and enhancements to the original game: 5 all-new missions, alternate endings, new music, a redesigned interface, team customization options, a revamped combat system, and more - making it the definitive version of this one-of-a-kind cyberpunk RPG experience.

---------

It's 2054 - and the world has changed. Unchecked advances in technology have blurred the line between man and machine. Elves and trolls walk among us, ruthless corporations bleed the world dry, and Feuerschwinge’s reign of terror is just a distant memory. Germany is splintered - a stable anarchy known as the “Flux State” controls the city of Berlin. It’s a place where power is ephemeral, almost anything goes, and the right connections can be the difference between success and starvation. For you and your team of battle-scarred shadowrunners, there’s no better place to earn a quick payday.

Now, a new threat is rising, one that could mean untold chaos and devastation. One that soon has you and your team caught on the wrong side of a deadly conspiracy. The only clue: whispers of the Dragonfall. Rumors that the Great Dragon Feuerschwinge may still be alive, waiting for the right moment to return…

---------

The unique cyberpunk-meets-fantasy world of Shadowrun has gained a huge cult following since its creation nearly 25 years ago. Now, creator Jordan Weisman returns to the world of Shadowrun, modernizing this classic game setting as a single player, turn-based tactical RPG.

A Classic, Story-Driven RPG: Branching narrative full of sharp prose and deep character development. Immerse yourself in a smart, 20+ hour campaign with a diverse cast of all-too-human characters.

Unique Setting: Experience the “Tech meets Magic” dystopian future of Shadowrun, a fan-favorite game setting now celebrating it’s 25th anniversary. Shadowrun: Dragonfall - Director’s Cut is the perfect entry point to the setting for those with no prior Shadowrun experience, while providing plenty of classic Shadowrun characters and tech for veteran players to sink their teeth into.

Command Your Team: Lead a small team of shadowrunners - each with their own outlook, motivations, and backstory. The members of your team are designed to play contrasting roles during missions, and each has a distinct set of skills, abilities, strengths, and weaknesses. But it’s not all about the mission - each team member also has challenges to face in their own lives, which you can choose to brush aside or play an important part in.

Turn-Based Tactical Combat: When you’re running the shadows, every turn matters. Choose your actions wisely - move to better cover, charge into melee, or lob a fireball into a crowd of enemies. With over 200 weapons and spells at your disposal, every turn is filled with meaningful choices.

Skill-Based Character Progression: Choose a starting character archetype and build from there! Shadowrun: Dragonfall’s classless skill system allows you to grow your character in any direction you choose.

Ever since I discovered the Shadowrun reboot (Shadowrun: Returns), I have been absolutely enthralled by this game series. I binged play-throughs on them all and look forward to another. A turn based strategy game filled with magic, guns, and a cyberpunk-DnD world where you run deadly missions so that you may live comfortably another day. Any chance that we will see Shadowrun: Hong Kong released on here as well? I liked that game so very much.

by I####:

Unplayable due to the way this game handles resolution. At QHD nothing gets scaled properly, text is barley readable and controlling characters requires pinpoint accuracy. Options menu is very much non existant. Game pad support would have been nice as well, Xcom has it with similar game play and its better for it.

J70%
by J####:

This game runs like S. Loading takes over 5 min each lvl. Frame rate sun 10fps. There are no options for the way too dark display and this certainly dosn't run better than Shadowrun Returns. Most disappointing paid app ever.

by K####:

I kickstarted the original game and then bought it on android just to support the devs. This is one of the great sci-fi franchises that almost got lost but was saved by these devs. Buy it so they keep releasing more. This is really a fun and great title. I highly recommend. I didn't run into the issues others head and text size is fine, but I am playing on a Samsung note 12.2

After wiping the game and reloading to get past a persistent bug that would freeze the game after killing the last enemy npc at the end of false flag, I've become entranced by the depth of the story and the gameplay. Totally worth the time to play.

R70%
by R####:

It's a lot of fun but its hard to get into it when you spend half your time squinting to read and waiting for it to load. It will sometimes take a couple of minutes to load the map and then lag while you move around which ruins it for me. If its optimized, I'll be back but until then its shelved and you shouldn't buy it.

Alright I don't really give negative reviews but this game I have to. I played Shadowrun Returns and that game ran smoothly but this one didn't. I had to reset an hour of progress just to fix the fact that my character can't move. Otherwise, this game would be great.

This game is awesome but be careful if you plan to play this on a mobile phone as opposed to a tablet. With no way to scale up the UI or even the text it's really hard to play this on a small screen. If you have the right hardware though, it's amazing. I'm giving it three stars because I find it unplayable on my phone but others might be able to handle it.

This is a really addicting game with smooth mechanics and a very enthralling setting partnered with a cool story. I love this game. What I don't love is this app. This app takes a great game and collects all my resentment for its lack of a zoom function, inability to save progress while the app is minimized, extremely tiny writing, and no cloud save function. This game is a must have if you're a fan of the genera/series. But do yourself a favor and get it on steam. The price difference is well deserved...

Letters are really small and on a note 4 I did not expect lag. Sometimes you need to press 2 or 3 times to get the game to react. Feels like working in a virtual machine. If it does this on the biggest beast of note 4, it does seem a bad game.

Felt like an P&P game from back in the day. Characters were all interesting and, unlike DMS (first Shadowrun game), many ways to solve most situations. You dont always need a Decker! Long load times, tiny text and seems to temporarily hang at times (S6 Edge+); clearly not designed as a phone game but enjoyable none the less.

X70%
by X####:

It's an awesome game. It does load a bit long but it's worth waiting. The storyline is pretty good. The graphic is also great. It seems that it's not initially designed for small screen phones since it's a remake of a PC game. Runs smoothly on my Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7". Definitely worth playing and buying with the price.

If only all Google play games involved this depth of gaming! Characters and environment draw you into the world of Shadowrun. Action that makes you think....only thing I miss from the other Shadowrun game is a zoomable screen. Still five starts for me though

X70%
by X####:

I have been a Shadowrun player since edition 1 of the rules and love the game. This isnt it. Aside from that, its also a bad tactical game. Your characters go behind walls and cant be seen. You cant rotate the screen to see from a different perspective. My main character died behind a wall and so i couldnt use a trauma patch to revive him and the game saved itself at that point so I would have had to restart the whole mission. If you love the real Shadowrun or good tactical games, this is neither

X70%
by X####:

I have both Shadowrun Returns and Dragonfall for Android. Both are great games with expansive storytelling and an outstanding amount of depth. The Android version seems to be somewhat easier than its PC counterpart when set to the same difficulty level. Load times are a bit long, even on a Galaxy S5, but those are fairly infrequent. It can be rather hard to navigate the screen if using a phone without the use of a stylus and seems more suited to a decent sized tablet. An easy 5 stars, but this port has seen no additional effort from HB to update or maintain it. Single digit frame rates, 5 MINUTE LOAD TIMES EVERY LOAD SCREEN, 15-20 seconds to bring up the inventory screen, 20-30 seconds to manually save.

X70%
by X####:

The actual gameplay mechanics and storyline are very good, the optimisation for Android is not. Hard to have any semblance of suspension of disbelief when you're waiting 2 or 3 minutes for an area to load. I'm on a Shield Tablet, so not exactly a slouch, either. Worth a play, if you have the patience.

but I played through the game anyway. Cause the games really good. Please update with stylus or mouse support. That wpuld solve most of the problem

Loved this game... Until the Humanis compound mission. Now every time I clear the level, game crashes and I cannot progress. Would love to keep playing but literally can't. Please fix.

X70%
by X####:

Great story, characters, combat system. This game would be pretty much perfect, but... WHAT THE HECK IS IT DOING WHEN LOADING A LEVEL OR MENU? Why does it take over 10 seconds before the next scene's splashscreen to appear? Why does it sometimes say "saving..." in the bottom corner when I'm LOADING a saved game? Why does it take SO LONG for the save menu to appear? It seems like most of these issues could be reasonably fixable...

X70%
by X####:

Love shadowrun, love dragonfall. Own both on pc. However, this port is absolutely terrible. My Samsung Galaxy s7 has plenty of cpu and gpu power to properly run much more demanding games than this, but this port has seen no additional effort from HB to update or maintain it. Single digit frame rates, 5 MINUTE LOAD TIMES EVERY LOAD SCREEN, 15-20 seconds to bring up the inventory screen, 20-30 seconds to manually save. Impossible to play mobile, locking screen RESETS: WTF!?

I loved the first one and had no.issues with it. In this game I was having a blast until I had to take a up bahn to dragonkippe... now it tells me to take the u bahn, but every time I interact with the gold symbol to proceed it asked where u new to be. But won't bring up the option to go their besides staying on the current platform... a serious detraction as I can't even play the game.

X70%
by X####:

Great game. I'm playing on a 5.5 inch screen and it's manageable, but tiny. Miss the zoom function from Shadowrun Returns. And trying to Load or Quit to main menu both usually result in fatal crash. But yeah, great game, part adventure, part tactical RPG. Great universe/atmosphere/dialogue, pretty deep stats/gear, great turn based combat. Love it

X70%
by X####:

Never have I played an android game this good. The story is interesting, characters are pretty good, lots of different paths to take depending on how you create your character as well as how you play throughout. Combat is reminiscent of XCOM, dialogue and levelling is what you'd expect from an RPG, and the quests are good and integrated well into the main storyline. Graphics are good with no issues on either of my devices.

X70%
by X####:

I love this game. However, the devs removed the ability to pinch-zoom, which may not sound like a big deal, but it is. I have a Nexus 6 which is huge, but so are my hands, and sometimes the places I tap are a bit off. Zooming would correct that. Plus getting to see the environments the artists created close-up is a big bonus. Well done anyways, I hope you patch this in soon.

Best money I've spent on an Android game yet. If I have any critiques next time be able to adjust for a larger font size or better yet voice acting and the ability to create your own team but still have those great personal missions. And I really hope there will be a next time HBS! You rock k!❤

Played Shadowrun Returns years ago and liked it a lot. Saw Dragonfall out there and decided to give it a shot. I can't get beyond the opening dialogue. The game is heavy text and the text is just way too small. Way way too small. And my phone isn't a tiny screen; Galaxy S7. But if it was on a desktop, it would be 2-point. No way do I want to spend the whole game squinting. Whatever else is good or bad about the game, if you can't read it, it fails.

I've been a Shadowrun fan since it was released on Genesis. And I really enjoyed Shadowrun Returns. But after completing the first mission of Dragonfall on my LG tablet I can not get the game to load anymore and on the rare occasion that it does load, it's short lived and then the game crashes. I was really looking forward to playing this game on my mobile device. It breaks my heart to give it such a low rating.

X70%
by X####:

Ok so I would have given the game a 4 or a 5...but for the lack of foresight by the developers on this port. I am playing on a Galaxy s6 and find the game to be too small. It needs to be able to pinch and zoom. I find a lot of time I will not attack someone because I thought I was targeting them...only to walk around them. Very frustrating. The developers should be listening and responding. Felt like this was a waste of money.

I like the feel of the game and I do wish there was a soon but it works. The thing is no matter what I do starting a new character, reseting the level, or reseting the game I can't use the u-bhan to take the frist mission. I like the game get this is game breaking. I will happly change my review of the game but as of now the game is broken maybe it's just a bug I can't get passed. It's still a really bad bug

I paid for this app and after completing a few missions on very hard mode, the game appears to freeze except for one thing. I go to the main menu and under the character menu it says MyNameIsATroll8800 ?? Google are you really allowing developers to scam your customers? I don't think I will spend any more money gaming on Google Play

It reboots randomly during gameplay fix bugs other then that you guys do well by putting more shadow runs on mobile devices

Concept is great, characters good and gameplay OK. BUT!!! No zoom (??!?). Really really really long load times (even on a flagship phone from last year that has 3GB of RAM). Can't finish the smuggler run, all combat ends and game just sits there. Won't except any inputs. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE address!!!! With 5 stars w/o these issues.

Q70%

Text is so small you can't read it without squinting. Buttons are tiny and almost unclickable. Not a mobile game but rather a shrunk PC Version. Don't purchase until they actually make it a mobile game.

Q70%
by Q####:

That it lags a bit is ok. That it takes forever for the save game list to load, ok. But that it freezes after killing the last NPC on False Flag, repeatedly, is a game breaker (Nexus 9 btw, so certainly not ancient hardware) - literally, since I cannot continue to play now, given that I can't save, can't move, can't do nothing and it's a story mission. Too bad it's too late to return it now. *edit* Ok, apparently the trick is to NOT kill the last NPC but to get your whole team out of the compound while they are still shooting at you. Still needs to be fixed, but for anyone else stuck in that situation: that way you can at least apparently continue the campaign.

Crashes over and over, then I'm back to my last saved game repeatedly. Stuck zoomed in, can't zoom out. Ridiculously long loading time. Hard to get any real gameplay accomplished like that. Please please please fix these problems. Other than all that, cool game.

Q70%
by Q####:

Story was great, charters were great, many hours of gameplay. Long loading times and lag were common place toward the end game, didn't ruin experience since it's turn based. Played on galaxy s5. I had no problem seeing and reading everything, definitely recommend

Q70%
by Q####:

The game is just a work of art with fun xcom like gameplay, mass effect like deeply difficult choices and deep skill customization. I'm amazed at the quality and length considering its a mobile game, can't recommend it enough.

Q70%
by Q####:

As like the first game, small text (doesn't bother me) and lagging ,this one lags more than the first but is so much better, more optional runs.Still miss being able to go into matrix at anytime and steal info to sell, like in the old sega game.Even with alot of lagging and occasional crashes I love this game, hope there's another in the works.
