If you're looking for more than a kiss this is not the game you're looking for. If you like going through lots and lots and LOTS of battles then you'll love it. The art is really good and I do like the story, but this really would have been better of as a shojo manga. The choice making is almost not a factor as there really are only two stories and the bulk of your choices will simply be choosing to follow whoever's route you're on. And good god are the stories long. Normally I would say that's a good thing but it's mostly travelling and fighting. Then once you've been through all that stuff with your man you don't get any more than a few kisses out of him ultimately.

This is a paid game and there's nothing wrong with that. The time saved on all the passports is worth ten times the money you pay (6 dollars or euros). I chose the Kuso route and absolutely loved it. The way he falls in love over time and the sweet ending is just the best. Even better was the sequel (Spring something), which is also paid but continues the love story even more. I like that it's absolutely not about sex and actually has a decent plotline.

I love and enjoyed this game! I love that it's long and detailed, and the romance isn't so fast paced nor slow but just right. I choose Gentoka story and fell in love with it <3 :) the story line is awesome and worth the pay ???????? also makes me curios what difference will there be if I choose another character :) I'm excited to read the others! It thing for me was that the bgm is not working ???? still I would give 5 stars as it is worth it :) Though would appreciate it if any staff could help me fix it :)

Great game! I love the battles and the story is just awesome, some guys are more interesting I liked the red headed hottie the best followed by the black haired God lol the most boring for me was the older guy I'm usually all over the older hot guys but his route I didn't even finish :( I'm sure it was because I had just read my fiance's route lol he's the hottie God with black hair. I will say that the first few chaps are the same for each route that is a bummer :( but once you get past all the repetitiveness it's great. Also big complaint, there is no music at all! Which is weird because the sequel to this does have music and it's really good too. Wish they'd just place that in this game I don't see why they couldn't :( So yeah def get Pandora ready if you wanna play this. I'd love to find some shall we date soundtracks on there but I really haven't looked

The game's art is absolutely beautiful. I wouldn't expect anything less from Otomate. I think it is a shame that people are giving bad reviews because they have to pay for it. People have put a lot of effort into making this. Why should they work for free?

First let me say I pretty much always play paid otome games, I just don't like the hassle of the free games and I don't mind paying. I was really keen to play this game.... until I saw the price, its ten Australian dollars. That in my opinion is not worth it when most of Solmare's other paid game main stories are eight Australian dollars. I do like the art in the prologue and it's seems like a really interesting game which is why I haven't given it a one star.

A war novel which occasionally hints at romance. If you're looking for a romance novel don't buy this title

I play several other otome games, and this one is one of my favorites, along with Hakuoki and Nilfheim. I was glad to find that the stories in this game are pre-paid, instead of that annoying 5 story tickets a day. I hate being forced to stop reading in the middle of a story, and after stopping I often forget to come back regularly, and when I do come back I forgot where exactly I was in the story, as well as only dimly recalling all that happened over the previous months. I much prefer reading the story all at once, and being able to read it again when I want, as long as the price is not outrageous (about 5€ per story here I think?). I was very pleased with this game. I even liked some of the characters, and it is very rare for me to really like even one of the male characters. Usually they either annoy me or bore me or both, which does not necessarily mean that they are badly written, mostly it is just a matter of taste and inclination, as with some popular character archetypes that I personally can't stand), and often I just vaguely like them or tolerable them for the sake of the story, so it is a nice change to actually like some of them. Akifusa annoys me (like all characters of his type), but Gentoka is alright, and I really like Kuso-no-mikoto. The basic plot is not especially original (the "human versus demon", "end of the world preventable only by you oh chosen one" and "guilt-ridden hero" things must have been done a thousand times already, and same for the "divine magic sword which is also a curse"), but at least in this game it is well done, and that is the important thing. The writing (or translation ?) is alright, I think I only cringed once or twice in the whole of Kuso's route, and not very strongly at that. It is my new record so far, for the least cringe inducing otome reading. The tone feels right for the story until now, no over the top dramatics yet. Also, no constant spelling errors or bad grammar to annoy me (and the fact that I even need to mention that unfortunately says a lot about the generally low quality of writing/translation in otome games...). The art is really beautiful, I wish more games had the same quality and talent. I liked the CGs much less than the regular illustrations, though. I also with that this game had some good music to go with the story and art, but the total absence of music is very disappointing. I find music always helps a lot with immersion (or at least it does when the music is not overly annoying... looking at you, Wizardess Heart). All in all, I am very glad I found this game and I don't regret buying Kuso's route. I don't know if I will try another, though. All the routes follow the same events for half the story, and then it diverges into two paths, as depending on which character you chose you either go to the capital or to the spirit world. I like Gentoka well enough, though not as much as Kuso, and I am curious about his route since I saw many good review of it, but I never managed to get past the first chapters. I did try, but I just can't concentrate on Gentoka or anyone else when Kuso is around ^_^. Akifusa annoys me so I won't read his, I neither like nor dislike Kodonomae, and I haven't seen enough of Furutsugu in the prologue and Kuso's route to have an opinion on him. I did liked Tomonori, and was sad to noticed that he did not have a route. Fortunately, one was added in the sequel, Scarlet Fate II Seasons of Love (and by the way, Tomonori's route does not have the same structure as the others at all since everything takes place in the capital, so it is all new, no re-reading the same events than in the others routes, and the story is fantastic !). That leaves me with nothing to wish for except some music. And... maybe a Kamimusubi route ? *_* That should be interesting to read :D EDIT: I am really sick of people who keep giving bad ratings to paying games for the sole fault of not being free. Please stop, those comments are embarrassing to read. Do you also whine when going shopping in stores because you have to pay for stuff ?

I would rate 5 but I have an issue with a story purchase I made. The transaction went through and it shows on my bank account, but it doesn't transfer to the game. I would either like assistance in solving the problem or a refund returned to me. Will rate 5 stars after issue is solved.

My original review sadly did not fit so I will have to make this short but I want to talk about the people ruining this great game's ratings. Paying is not unreasonable. The only reason you get your free games in the first place is because of people like me who pay for the game. It's a privilege, not a right. Also, you see the border around the app icon? If it is white you have to pay, if it's red you dont. So use your basic observation skills and stick to your free to play games already.

This is the best thing ever, genuine meaningful bonds substantial plot, beautiful characters and wonderful endings . Thanks, Otomate. This is the last good thing Solmare did. Lately they only make very shallow vulgar stories, turning into another voltage. Such a shame. This is a port of otomate, it's really generous there is a free version at all. It works better as a paid app though - you can read offline among other things. Downrating cause 'not free"is idiocy and it's more wortwhile to play paid anyway

I love how beautiful the art and the theme is. Although despite these, the angst level of the Princess is grating as the chapter goes on and the lack of BGM is unnerving. Just to get my money's worth I'm pushing through it regardless. The first few chapters made me yawn and I had to skip some angsty (repetitive) monologues. Though it gets a bit more lively and interesting later on. For me, the game overall is fine, not the best though.

The story is AMAZING - better than actual books I've read. Nothing happens too fast and I love how it's not constantly whoever you choose; it's more realistic and, thanks to that, it makes my heart race just whenever he shows up - god, does it make me feel like I'm really in the story! The writing is so poetic, too. There's so much thought put into this one, you get a real connection to the characters. I actually cried a few times. My very high standards have been surpassed - make more like this, please!

It's probably a bug but but I could get no sound. Just as well, because now I can imagine the full orchestra that would make an appropriate soundtrack. There are armies and duels and heroic last stands, true friendships forming under fire and allies turning on each other, corrupt court officials, idealistic court officials who've cracked a few too many eggs for their world peace basket, historical oppression of ethnic minorities informing the fantasy plot in an integral way, getting lost, injured and desperate, in the snow at night, and a love story (in the route I played) that skips over "I would die for you" as too easy. "I would live for you," now that's where it's tough. All this with big hair and elaborate outfits. Yeah, that's the stuff.REPLY TO DEVELOPER: No worries. I adored the game.

The length of the chapters is great. I love how the heroine isn't just a "normal" helpless girl. She has a place and some power. I'm only in the third chapter but I've noticed there is a LOT of repetition. So.. Much.. Repetition... Other than that it's so far been quite enjoyable. My code to unlock photos: D2yJ2hc9qi

So I bought genkos story. I have to say it was very good and I cried at certain parts. I can't really imagine going any other way. As far as stories go for 4 dollars you really can't go wrong. It's cheaper than some books. This is my first visual novel, but I'm interested in reading more. Was absolutely fantastic!

I was hoping that they would put the character voice in the game, but it seems like I kept my hopes too high, because now they also remove the background music, why would you do that?

I can't see the cgs in the photo albums or rather they are locked even though I finished characters story.also when the story ends & sweet ending displays the app freeze s and restart on it's own. It happens on every story ending. Please fix it otherwise I won't be able to see these pretty cgs

One of my favourite Otome games story wise. Worth the money as well because it is a lot longer than others that I have paid for. The only thing missing is some music. Implement music and I'll change my rating to 5 stars.

Downloaded this version because I'd rather buy a story and read as long as I want than be limited by a ticket system. Purchased Akifusa Oki, and the download goes fine until 99%, in which my entire phone locks up and must be restarted. Frustrating, because I really want to play the first before the second.

I think this game should have remained free. Not cause im cheap, on the contrary, i buy all my otome games, but because info was so jampacked that when its played through quickly its too overwhelming. Narration also stood in place over character reactions and interactions w/c i didnt appreciate. At all. I wasnt too fond of the mc. She was "strong" but the way her character was written made her seem like a bad, angsty fanfic mary sue character. All in all, it was just "ok" for me.
