A secret city walk is an interactive walk designed to help you and your kids explore the “secret side” of London by decoding clues and answering questions.
Each walk is a standalone app, which you and your kids play using your smart phone, and by interacting with the surrounding environment.
This Secret City Walk, London Free, takes you from the British Museum to Covent Garden Market; a distance of less than a mile.
On this adventure you will:
• Explore the history of Neal Street and the backstreet surrounding Covent Garden,
• Experience the atmosphere of the Covent Garden Market Piazza, and
• Discover ballerinas in the sky, hidden cafes and cobblestone streets…
…and much more as you solve 7 objectives to complete this mission and reach Covent Garden in around an hour.
If you want to explore and go "off mission" while you are playing, you can easily take breaks between objectives as the timer stops.
Each objective includes:
1. A map,
2. Clues to solve, directions to follow, or both,
3. A question to answer,
4. A satellite uplink (as a help reference), and
5. Four possible solutions.
All you need to do is solve the clues, follow the directions, or both. The answer is waiting for you to find.
Just read and understand what is being asked and use your map to help you find the answers.
If you get stuck, the "Satellite Uplink" is a help function, which provides a shortcut, but it costs you a 5-minute time penalty!
Each correct answer gives you a short educational summary on the objectives topic.

I live in London and did this with a few friends on a Sunday afternoon. It's different to your 'usual' city walks in that you have to solve clues to reach the next stage... really well thought out and some were quite cryptic and challenging. We learned a lot too :-). I agree that an interactive map would make it even better. It's definitely NOT boring!!
