Chinese Chess

While explaining how certain pieces may move, it does not explain the restrictions. It would be much better if the restrictions were explained instead of simply saying the piece cannot make that move. An example being: why can a commander not be in the fotress square in the same lane as the enemy commander but without guards? That makes no sense, but has repeatedly been the restriction. Sometimes, an unimpaired knight cannot capture a piece, and it is also not explained why (and I double checked for pins)

Very effective coding. Makes your Android device into a strong opponent considering how little computing resource it consumes. I have two complaints, though. 1) The "Beginner" level is not for beginners AT ALL -- it should be made much weaker than what it is right now; 2) Error in programming (in version 2.4.0): When the app put me in check by repeating the same moves, it wrongly declares that I lose (message: "The game takes too long. You lose"). But that's the opposite of the proper rule of Chinese chess. In fact, the side that repetitively (same moves repeated more than 3 rounds) checks its opponent should be declared the losing side. Hope these will be corrected in the next update.

AI skill really great. But the feature play with player board layout is position it in correctly. I am having similar software too. Search for my github repo for jackwong696. Looking forward to learn from you too.

Very strong I doubt I will ever beat it. Chariots and cannons used to devastating effect!

When AI is going to lose, non-stop check mate... Never admit losing... Problem on the rules. Highly not recommended.

Many ads --> annoying and not really beauty. Moreover it's not really good Chinese chess app, including design and mathematic.

Just too bad every difficulty level is out of my league... Not sure what kind of easy this actually means...

The game itself is good, however it is clear it is missing rules of the actual game, especially the rule that repeating the same move more than three times is illegal. Just missing that one rule gives the AI an advantage because it forces the player to make nonsensical moves that end up costing you the match because all the AI does is move one piece back and forth a thousand times. So, for the most part they did a good job but they needed to study the actual rules of the actual game better.
