About Hasami Shogi
Hasami Shogi is one of the most popular Shogi (Japanese chess) variants. The word "hasami" means "sandwiching" which shortly describes the way of capturing in this game.
It is very challenging board game for all ages, easy to learn but hard to master. Challenge your strategic skills!

* Each players starts with their own pieces which are placed on the back row of the board.
* The players alternate making a move. Each piece moves as a rook in Chess, horizontally and vertically.
* A piece cannot move through another piece.
* When a player sandwiches opponent's piece(s) by two of his own pieces, he captures the sandwiched piece(s). A player can sandwich horizontally and vertically, but NOT diagonally.
* A Player wins when the opponent only has 4 or less pieces left on the board.

The game is nice, but unfortunately on my device it freezes a lot and make the user experience kind of annoying. This seems to be a common behavior with other nexus 7 users.

This is a good game. Simple rules but strategic. It could really be played on a checkerboard with checker pieces, but it's not as simple as that game. The new feature with A.I. automatically adjusting for winning/losing is nice too.

Great app, simple enough for anyone to use. One problem, if you have a small screen, its hard to select pieeces and move pieces, this problem grows witth larger board sizes as the squarrs become smaller. A zoom feature as is featured in shogi lite would be great.

I love the fact there are no special permissions. The description is right 'easy to learn hard to master' so keep trying and eventually you will master it, I've just defeated the CPU at level 3 (default difficulty) took me roughly 60 games though which says more about my lack of skill! I recommend lowering the difficulty after a few attempts at the default setting just to get the hang of it. 5*

The rules may be simple but winning is anything but simple. Very brutal logic game that will test your wits.has the simplicity of checkers with the complexity of chess. Great implementation.
