Hoi Holland!: your first step towards mastering the Dutch language!
Hoi Holland! shows you how much fun it can be to learn Dutch! Although you can speak English with practically anyone in Holland, learning the local language helps you to get to know the country and its culture and society. By playing Hoi Holland! you will learn some basics of Dutch: understanding and speaking Dutch makes everyday activities, such as grocery shopping or going to a restaurant a little easier and more fun. It will also help you to connect with Dutch students and make new, Dutch friends! Even if you start your career in an international company elsewhere, having foreign language skills is always a benefit.
Hoi Holland! is an initiative of EP-Nuffic, within the context of the Dutch national programme Make it in the Netherlands! and is made possible by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science. Hoi Holland! was developed in collaboration with Study in Holland, the official starting point for all international students who are considering Holland as a study or research destination.

You -obviously,- cannot learn all of the language, and the culture from this app, but, it would be nice for some extra lessons. There are bonus lessons, but still, a little more content would be great. Something to note is that lessons do cycle through answers. My biggest real complaint is that when in a lesson sometimes I've had trouble realizing what it is I was supposed to do, and that the icons used do not have any explination into what they are. I think a help page would be unobtrusive, and useful.

I like, how the app uses text and speech output for learning a new language. However, there are several reasons why I wouldn't recommend it to my friends. First of all: after not using the app for a month, you actually forget how it works. I hoped that the "?" button would give me instructions what the exercise is about. But it shows translations instead. Also the whole idea of repeating a conversation doesn't seem useful to me. Just selecting an answer, which makes sense, doesn't solve the exercise.

There could be more lessons to the app. The material on the app is the best way to learn a new language but it could include more lessons. I completed my lessons in one day thinking it would have more material but it doesn't so now I have to uninstall the app.

Could easily get 5 stars but for some numbers that are missing from the pictures. Even though the numbers are mentioned, you don't find them displayed in the pictures. Eg. The number 15 is missing from the picture in the grocery store but you are expected to trace it. Will be glad to receive an update to correct these anomalies. Thanks
